First of all, did Owen Pallett ever take voice lessons?!?!?!?!!!
I'm really not an expert in voice but does he have a naturally good chest voice range or does he combine the head and chest voice really well.
Because I noticed on 'Lewis Takes Action' he is able to reach the Aflat above middle C (when he says 'acolytes) and on 'Lewis Takes off His Shirt' it also seems like he can reach the G above middle C (on the very last 'give it to you!' in which seems to be his chest voice.
I am envious because I can only reach the F above middle C and try to sing/play his songs, and its really hard for me. lol. So I'm wondering if he does mix chest and head voice regularly.

With practice you can expand your range, just don't force it. You can always change the key of songs to better suit your voice too.

Didn't take voice lessons. My range expanded through my 20s, like, a lot. I can hit high A, soprano range (the end of "Midnight Directives"). Ab an octave below is the top of my chest range, but I can't hit it reliably enough to, say, sing "Lewis/Action" live in only chest.
Just do warm-ups, scales and stuff, do them every day.

Oh wow, well it's good to know I can improve on it and not be stuck heeh.! I guess it's time to sound ridiculous in my house.....

Speaking as a voice major, that's really what it's all about! Gotta sound ridiculous to get anywhere.
Anyway, high A's pretty impressive! That's at the top of my range!
