Hey did anyone hear that Owen's coming to Vancouver for a show on March 4?? Anyone going? It's $18 for a ticket and I heard the room is small so it should be intimate. Part of CBC's SignalFest concerts. www.cbc.ca/thesignal |

Holy Fuck!!! I just got an email about this today. I'M EXCITED TOO!!!!! Maybe. If I can get tickets, that is. Otherwise I'll just be devastatingly disappointed. Does anyone know if you can only order tix online? I don't have a credit card and might be totally screwed. WAIT!!! I have a friend who goes to Cap, maybe I can swing this. YOU GUYS, THIS IS AWESOME!!! :DDD

Aaaaand... I made a call & apparently there will "definitely be tickets available at the door". WOO!!! So I'll have to get down there mega-early. I think I might be going to this show by myself, which is ok, but can so much joy be contained in one person? I usually need to share it. :/

I'm sure you'll meet other people  Especially if you get there mega early.... (I always find interesting people when I show up super early, by myself at shows...because hello, who else arrives 4 hours before the doors open (I don't always do that...3 hours maybe...), other than mega fans who are just as excited as you?) I loved his little "hm!"s whenever he made a mistake, so funny! I may have mentioned that to him after the show which may have not been the best opener, haha. There better be a podcast, I can't imagine why there wouldn't be

Sorry for taking so long to get back on here.  But if you guys are still interested in hearing about the show, I'm still excited to talk about it! <Please insert flailing hand gestures, and possibly jumping, where appropriate.> So, YES!! IT WAS A BRILLIANT SHOW!!!! Turns out, I didn't have to go by myself because a friend had heard Owen being featured on CBC earlier in the week and wanted to come with me. It's always so fun to see someone's first reactions to watching him perform. And my friend was absolutely blown away, even though this isn't the type of music he would normally ever listen to. This was the sixth time I've seen Owen play and I dare say it was the best one yet!!! (Except for the first show, cause, you know, first times are special, haha). I mean, he's always flawless and even his occasional fuck up is pretty much just endearing, but the sound was soooo good in the studio and I don't think I've ever seen him so.... animate! And dancey!! I wanted to dance too but it was very much a sit-down show. Usually, when I've seen Owen play he's very intense and.. elegant. He just had such a fun and exciting energy during this show though. The first two songs were Don't Stop and Scandal at the Parkade, which were the two songs I was going to request but didn't get around to posting. What luck! LOVED his cover of Odessa (thanks for putting up the vidlink from the Paris show, Clara!) and.. and... I can't remember the set list. He played everything I wanted to hear, although no Please Please Please or Song Song Song. They were filming the show so hopefully they put it up SOON in the Concerts In Demand on the CBC2 website. OH!!! And I got to talk to Owen after the show, even though I felt like #1 Fangirl!Loser knocking on his dressing room door (but the employees outside told me I should! For realz!). He was incredibly gracious and gave me a hug before I left, but he said he wouldn't be coming back to Vancouver until he had a new album. Sad, sad me. err... yes. So, obviously I could babble on endlessly about this show (and I have, as my friends can attest to) but anyways, sum up = Fucking Brilliant!!!! |

Haha I was afraid it would be rude to knock so I just sat outside with a couple of friends, then a CBC Admin went in, came out and told us we could come in. I wish I had an excuse to work for him while he's on tour so I could watch his every show, haha.
