Sounds great! I think I'll write mine for melodica and voices, maybe. I'll have to look up the range. And the French.

Wait, you're doing it in French then?
Dan. Dan. Have you recorded anything yet? I'd love to see how it goes before writing a longer one.
By the way - does anybody know of a way for me to make this forum thing notify me when someone writes in a topic I posted or am posting in? It'd save me some many countless pageclicks. I'm kind of anxious when it comes to collective endeavors, y'know.

Probably. I want to at least record each one spoken and decide.

I just got home from Rio and rage-wrote an oboe solo piece. I think I had a meaningful day.
I also want to say that I'm on a roll, so if you guys wanna record this so that I know how you sound before I write MOAR then you should record NOW before I write MOAR and you have to record MOAR without me knowing how you sound.
Sleep. I go. Good night!

It was in your mailbox before it even existed, Ren. I thought up a project of 1000 solo pieces, being that one the first. I'll post here about it soon! Dan, did you really record the voice first? ahaha I think this is the first time I ever heard of someone doing this! EDIT: By the way, thanks for the commitment, guys. We're sure to be able to do something meaningful and not have a third failure at this go if we stay that way.

Yeah I definitely did. I'm a much better vocalist and musician when it comes to vocals than uke so it comes much more naturally. Idk, it felt better to me haha.

Dan, Emyli, too late. Here is my setting of The Earth is Blue like an Orange. I liked it, and took me about two hours and a half with interruptions to make. Requires power waltzing on the ukulele by Dan. Requires soprano recorder by M. Saramago. Requires singing by Emyli. I never tried setting poems before these too. It's fun. The metrics of this one, though, were a bit hard to organize. See if you like it. Attachments:

looks pretty good btw, my first name is margarida, m. saramago looks weird on paper xD could i ask you a favor of sending me a demo of how the tempo should be? im gonna ask for the help of some friends who study music, because im a real amateur, but i just wanna make sure i record it the right way for you guys... edit - agora e que reparei, eu nao consigo chegar ao la, si e do mais agudos, porque tenho que usar o la e si bemol mais graves... a minha flauta faz uma oitava e meia, do dó ao dó e depois ate ao sol... ou sou eu que estou ver as coisas mal? :/ sorry about the portuguese

Margarida! Did you just delete a post? There was a post here right now of you saying you couldn't play the high C and B. They should be in the range of the soprano recorder, but I failed to consider that it might transpose one octave up, is that the case? If so, you can play it one octave down... if not, can you post your playing range?
Besides, I think you should wait until at least Dan records his ukulele so that you record the recorder over it. If you don't, it's going to be a pain to sync you guys. That also concerns the tempo: whatever he plays will be the tempo for everybody.
EDIT: A-ha, there you are, you were undoing your double post. Valeu pela empolgação!! ahaha
EDIT 2: I think I get it now. You can do C4-G5, right? (middle C in Brazil is C3, but I guess everywhere else it's C4). I guess the soprano recorder is a transposed instrument, then. Just play everything one octave down and it'll be fine!
