That just looks amazing. I hope he plays the whole thing, because I don't think he's ever done "Tryst with Mephistopheles" live. I'm so jealous of all the people in London. Actually, he did play it once, with the Brooklyn Philaharmonic. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYnB9Xbbpa4Tryst starts around the middle of the video. I think that's the only time he's done it, though. And to my knowlege he's never done Red Sun No. 5... Exciting! I'm so jealous of all the people who are able to go to this.

Eeee, I haven't checked in here for ages but... just got the email from Barbican about this show. I just bought Sufjan and Bjork tickets so can't really justify it, but.... ALL OF HEARTLAND WITH A FUCKING ORCHESTRA :-o. And a Steve Reich premier to boot. I'm gonna have to get a bargain basement balcony ticket I think Epic.

I swear they werent there before. And my ticket for the circle cost more, how does that work out??!!!! I'm so angry at myself Oh well I'll probably have a better view where I'm sitting, I'm in the third row in the circle.

I think that the way the seating works, if you are in the first few rows you may be considered to be too close for some concerts. Not sure what this means for this concert, it may be that you hear real noises close up (i.e. un-mixed so it may be biased towards a trumpet) or that your view is slightly more restricted. I'd imagine if you want to stare into Owen's eyes it would be better than the circle, but to experience the full effect further back may be better.

Can't be sure but I don't think those seats were on sale when I booked, so I suspect they may only have been released recently. I know the barbican very well though and can confirm that those first few rows are on the level (not raked) and are a little below stage level. Assuming Owen is front of stage you will be able to look up his nose (nice!), but you may not be able to see everything that's going on at the back of the stage. There aren't really any "bad" seats I'd say, although balcony level is quite a long way from the stage. All seats are pretty good for acoustics.

I want to stare into Owen's eyes I'm kidding, I'm sure the circle will be good And yeah, I'm pretty sure those seats weren't there when I booked my ticket. Unless I just didn't scroll down all the way!

Oh brilliant.. I'm more than happy to pay to get a good quality video of any of Owen's concerts. It seems a fair deal to me. It certainly beats stealing a stream like the Cross-Linx Festival one or those rubbish ones I keep producing. Owen, please please please get someone to do a classy video of the Barbican gig. I'd buy a copy for a reasonable price (Okay I'd probably pay silly money as well). Update...Wow.. amazing.. HD version is so good..
