Hello, i was wondering if any Owen Pallett fans here are from edmonton. I've got a ticket to see him on October 26 at the horowitz theatre. Unfortunately, a lot, if not all of my friends don't share my taste in music, and i'm pretty sure none of them has heard of Owen Pallett, so I'm going alone (but I don't really care, I really want to see him live).
So yeah, just checking. Anyone from edmonton?

Oh awesome, front row. I think I'm somewhere in the left section in a row somewhere towards the middle of the theatre. So do you know if you're it? Only two edmontonians.

It sucks going to concerts by yourself. Good for you!

Yeah, I was kinda worried about that. This is my first concert as well.
Is it really that bad going to concerts alone though? Anybody have any stories?

I go to shows alone all the time. The wait can be unbearable if you don't bring reading material, but it's not that bad. Though it's nice to have someone to snuggle with in line if it's really cold and you're waiting a few hours.

Some of my favorite shows I went to alone. When I saw Owen in Montreal I did Theory homework, slept, and read, and that was a pretty good time. It got a lot easier for me when I started talking to people, and having a McGill student like all these bands you've distantly heard of is a really soothing thing.

Theory homework is an amazing way to kill time. You can always look for part writing errors one more time.

It sucks going to concerts by yourself. Good for you! I disagree - I think going to a concert alone is better than taking someone who you're not sure is going to like it, and end up spending the whole time worrying whether they're enjoying themselves... and usually whoever you end up near will be a nice person, because they also have impeccable taste in music
