Oh that's fun!
Thanks Jules! I had a very nice bday, drinks with friends and then a nice dinner with the boyfriend.
Generally my summer has been relaxed, I worked a lot on a bunch of different things. Had a film I scored premiere at TIFF to a rapturous response. Working on a couple of other films and projects.
I put on weight over COVID, as one does, and I was non-plussed about the weight gain, I love my body in any shape; that is, until I had to get "dressed up" for a wedding and promptly realised that none of my non-interior clothes fit me any more. So I'm doing the Noom diet and running 5k every other day and hoping I can slither into a pair of jeans again.
My bf and I got a new puppy named Nora, she is gorgeous and perfect. I'm still living in Toronto although it has become so expensive that we're eyeing other locations to set up shop. Waterford? Montreal? Lisbon? It's all pleasant to think about but we'll likely be here in Toronto for a while :/
I kinda decided to "not tour" for a while. My EU gigs getting postponed and then cancelled through 2020/2021 was really discouraging to me. I didn't like the idea of attempting to tour-- even now, COVID numbers are so high, and the threat of catching it is still such a risk. I was concerned about high competition for venue space and audiences, and concerned about the extreme expense of travel due to gas prices. Considering that I'm content to stay put and score films, it just seemed like the less-stressful option.
That said
There is something in the works in this regard. We'll probably be announcing it in November.

I’m a yo-yo with my weight at the best of times and lockdown did me no favours. I started doing long walks every day ( I can’t actually run anymore) as that was allowed but even that didn’t help. I was lucky that I didn’t need to use a suit for my granddaughter’s christening (yeah I know call me grumps from now on).
Love all the soundtracks, just that some are hard to get hands on. I had to get The Wait DVD for that one. Spaceship Earth is still my favourite, but eagerly awaiting new stuff. I
Tour when you feel it’s the right time, not because we all want to see you again. We live in strange times and costs of everything just goes from bad to WTF at the moment. Ticket prices for gigs have gone mental and all this pricing based on demand is annoying, but music people (roadies included) need to put some pennies in the bank.
Today felt like Autumn for the first time.
Stay less stressed.

Totally understandable - I do miss your shows, but I have plenty to look forward to in the meantime and I'd definitely rather you wait til you feel ready. Just about every other artist I love seems to be touring all at once this year, so my bank account could do with a break too! |

Thank you, Kit and Cat! <3 Luckily low dose naltrexone and time have helped pretty significantly, though I still have a long way to go. The whole experience has honestly led to a lot of personal growth and learning not to let the little things get to me so much; like the saying goes, "no mud, no lotus."
