I feel like there might be some truth to that conspiracy theory of yours. I ordered the EP from Domino but I didn't get a confirmation email. Then I wrote to them and asked whether they got my order at all, but I didn't get a reply to that either. So I just bought the EP from iTunes. That's totally ridiculous and paranoid. Eh, to clarify, I wasn't being serious. I was just really frustrated with Domino. I've been wondering where I should buy Owen's records so that it would benefit him the most. I mean, I assume that ordering through Domino is better than, say, Amazon? Is iTunes better than some random store?

That's totally ridiculous and paranoid. On a totally unrelated note, my EP still hasn't arrived, and I just got a call saying my credit card has been compromised and will be cancelled until further notice. What I meant to say is, it's definitely a conspiracy. Trust no one! *gets taken away by RCMP*

I dunno... I think Owen was right, HTDOE is very different.... I fell in love with it when I taped him doing it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMf4mRoiogIand the Selfish Selfish part was much more arresting... ya know?

Not to be an argumentative dick but I was actually surprised at how little he'd changed it from this performance to the recording... could you elaborate for my inexperienced ears?

For one: The replacement of violin with synth as the intro starts the song in a different dramatic strata? Second... The absence of violin in the second verse... the lone guitar sounds weird to me. To me the song with all that violin had a very sad, in a not depressing way, feel... now it feels angry and sad. edit: I should say I love the rest of the EP.

I am so ridiculously happy with this EP that I should probably be embarrassed by my enthusiasm... but I'm not. Cause it's just that good. And yes, the HTDOE vinyl version feels completely different to me than any other live version I have/heard. IMO the vinyl version lacks the desperation(?) of the live versions. It definitely has that angry feel... but in an upbeat way? How terrible that I can't think of a better way to describe it. :/ Regardless, so much love for every track. And Bonus The Great Elsewhere Remix!!! Oh my lord, I just... I can't... OH HELLS YAH!!!! <3

The artist gets very little money from iTunes.
I only heard Scandal At The Parkade live when I saw him. But it instantly became one of my favorite songs.
