figured I could start this for discussion about this specific one. I know NYC taper is scheduled to be recording this show, so that is fantastic.
I'll be there with some people who have never seen Owen before, and one who has only seen him at that infamous Bell House no violin show. I am very excited to see how they react.
If anyone has any extra tickets I know two people who are looking for them. One couldn't get them before they sold out, and one realized he lost his ticket this morning. I can give a cell phone number and maybe a rendezvous at the venue could be arranged?
Otherwise, see some of you tonight. A couple of us are eating at Wild Ginger beforehand and you all are welcome to come by as well. I'll be wearing a big green knitted scarf if that helps to identify me.

Just got back from the show and it was masterful. Though one BIG hitch and maybe Owen didn't notice until the last tune, Thomas' mic was totally effed up and no one heard anything of his until the last track of the night.... which thank g-d I videotaped and bootleg. So yes, I have a bootleg and it came out beautifully. I just wasn't sure if I saw NYC Taper there, so I will wait to put anything out from it besides some HD Vids I shot paired with the boot track. Can someone confirm NYCtaper being there? Should be something on my blog (ww.oneforthegooddays.com) this week. MOVED FROM THE OTHER THREAD... oh and a snippet of the Bootleg...! This was my first time seeing Owen (not counting his performance with the Brooklyn Philharmonic early last year), and I must say, the internet videos of him don't do his live shows justice. The sound was great (aside from said mic issue). I was hoping to hear E is for Estranged but That's When The Audience Died more than made up for it.

Alas that is true... it's the buzz of the show that counts. The videos are more as an aid to memory and a hint at what to expect.

I was so excited that I messed up with the very complicated task of pressing the button on my camera. Didn't press it hard enough or something, and realized halfway through that I wasn't recording. Speaking of cameras, does anyone know what was up with the No Photography signs at the show? The bouncer was actually coming into the crowd and stopping people. I don't remember there ever being a No Photography rule at the Bowery Ballroom or any FF show I've been to.

I called ahead to see if I could bring my new DSLR to the show (Digital Rebel XS, the cheapest on canon offers), but they said only Point and Shoot (P&S) cameras were allowed. When I got to the show, I'm pretty sure I saw signs up and some Bowery person mentioning that there was no photography allowed at all that night.
Anyone have a set list? I had to run out after the first encore song (The CN Tower Belongs To The Dead (IIRC). Silly transit system, and my girlfriend being a bit paranoid about being stuck in the city.
Edit: Amazing quality on that bootleg clip of This Lamb Sells Condos! I wish I had been there for it. I'm really looking forward to you posting the full set!

Surprised no one else mentioned Owen's need for a "moist finger"... line of the NIGHT.... after Avi Buffalo's "blow up the bowery.... uh.... ballroom"

Guys, how can you actually get a hold of the setlist? I don't really see myself running on the stage for stealing it. 0_0

I've gotten a setlist by being very close to the front, and being generally enthusiastic and grabbing for it or waiting for the performer/roadies to throw it into the crowd. I gave it to someone else in the club, though.

Ah the moist finger... haha. That was adorable. Yeah, usually the roadies offer up the setlist to the person with the longest and the most energetic arms, haha.

Guys, how can you actually get a hold of the setlist? I don't really see myself running on the stage for stealing it. 0_0 Between Owen's and the Mountain Goats' sets at Webster Hall, I got Thomas's attention and asked for the setlist. Then, the following night at the Bell House, Thomas spotted me while clearing the gear away for the Goats' set and recognized me and brought me the setlist without my asking for it. This is because Thomas is made of awesome. But yeah, you generally get setlists by managing to be the first to get someone's attention. I don't do the whole screaming and jumping on stage thing. I just try to politely get someone's attention and request it. At that Webster Hall show, when Owen left the stage, there was clearly a piece of paper stuck to the floor where he'd been standing. But no one seemed to care, so when Thomas passed by the edge of the stage, I said "Hey, great show. Is that the setlist?" and that was that. But if several people are holding out their hands for the setlist at the same time, it's probably going to go to some cute girl with a low-cut shirt.
