Metro money, bus tickets, money for some merchandise. Montreal, here I come. (?)

I guess it's not as dramatic when it's a daily thing for you. But the seven-hour odyssey + wandering around Montreal alone thing just makes the fact that I'm going more exciting.
Funny thing is, I'll probably be at the venue before you. ;D

Oh no, I have a habit of being at venue hours before the show starts. For example, Franz Ferdinand came in August, I was there 4 hours before the show started. Friendly Fires: 2 hours. So, I took the metro and went to buy my tickets for next week's show to occupy myself.
But going to Montreal is always an adventure for me. And, heck, I am sooo excited for this show so it adds to the adventure. Woo!

4 hours before doors!? Woah woah woah. 2 hours is about as much as I could manage...I have to make it from the bus stop to the hostel anyway and grab some food. But since I'm going along, there's no reason not to just plop down in front of the venue with a book or something, see if I can fool people into thinking I'm native.

I've done as much as 7 hours before... But for The Decemberists, and they're a little more mainstream. Plus, it was an unusual circumstance. And they were playing with Death Cab.

That's understandable. I would just make sure I had a friend, and we'd sleep in shifts. When did the next folks get there?

Owen's Twitter seems to suggest problems getting to the St Johns gig and still not there.
I've only ever missed one show because of the weather and that was because Devo lost their equipment truck in the fog back in 1978.

We weren't the first people there! Though I once waited 4 hours in 16 degree (farenheit) weather for a show. My friend and I just sat there huddled in blankets and drinking chai.

There's video of "Fantasy" from St. John's here : www.youtube.com/user/c1a2s3s4g5i6b7b8The video isn't great, but the audio is decent, and captures some particularly fantastic use of Owen's "Owen-voice" setting on his keyboard (2:50ish)

Kid with the black-rimmed glasses and the grey shirt/grey-patterned scarf + messenger bag was me.
I was in the front too, right in front of Owen and I talked to Thomas after the show. Really cool.
