So, would everyone pick a song like a rework album, or does everyone have a go at the tracks and the "best" ones stick? I use best in the most non-hurtful and most diplomatic sense possible. I think everyone should pick a track to "primarily work through," but it really boils down to who wants what and can do what.

So we make a list of who can play what instruments and what songs they'd like to perform?

Wow. I'm not talented enough on anything to get in on this, but I will be hangin' out in the rafters and spying on you crafters. Great, great idea.

Wow, what great responses! I didn't anticipate it would even get this far. hah
I, like sarpe, have unlimited access to a bounty of recording equipment, and would be more than happy to arrage this strange and interesting project.
If it falls through I'll likely do everything myself and have some kickass christmas gifts for you guys. However a board effort would be amazing.

If this is actually serious I could use this to get credit for some classes and be able to use some pretty cool recording equipment... It would be an excellent project and I it would be a good test of skills I'm supposed to be learning. So if this is seriously going to happen I wouldn't mind being a part of it. It's just that you jump from sounding determined to kind of joking so now I'm kind of confused.

(/kidding) (disclaimer: I love Xiu Xiu, well mainly their earlier work [that sounded really pretentiously indie, but it's true], but there's not too much humor there[well, at least intentional])

Wonderful, if you're not having fun while doing music, why do it? Even if it is horribly tedious or otherwise... Now I'm excited!

So we make a list of who can play what instruments and what songs they'd like to perform? An Amateur - Accordion Sarpedon - Guitar, Bass, Soprano Ukulele, Bariton Ukulele, Banjo, Synth mhmm - Guitar, Synth Scarychips - Violin, Keyboards Ren - English Horn kiwiball - Drums orangefox - Cello, Accordion cal - Guitar, Piano/synth, Trumpet BlueInk/BlackThink - Piano, Violin Choose the song(s) you would like to perform on and we will all arrange something. I assume everyone can sing. You don't need to have the most beautiful voice we've ever heard. Something listenable is correct, I think. Quick reminder Those are he songs we'll mainly work on. Divorce the Ones you love Carload of Whatever Fault of Mine Love Song.Empty Room (superhappyfun version) Jars of Lars

This is an amazing diversion from homework. I also have access to the full range of university students should they be necessary, and some compositional/arrangement skills as well if help is needed.
Where can I find all of those songs, I have only about half of the ones up there...les mouches is...difficult to come by

I totally forgot I didn't say what I can do.
Piano (I'll be getting a moog voyager soon, so I can do some awesome noise on that) Violin (barely) Singing (but not really)
I'm just a decent piano player who can fiddle around and make some cool sounds on other stuff.
If we're choosing our own song, I'd like to do Carloads to sing, or we could turn it into a duet. I'd like it if someone would help me toss is back and forth, but if not, I can do it by myself.

i'd like to throw it out there that i'm much much more of a vocalist than a drummer as far as i know since i'm less experienced that way but things can be figured out if need be. and when we get to actual recording, i have no idea what i'm doing so i'll need some instruction, though i'm sure i'm not alone on that front.
i'm not sure how much of that was english, i've been working on conceptual art stuff all day so my brain is thinking erupting apricots as opposed to language or you know reality.

I woud like to sing on Jars of Lars. I'm more comfortable on that one than on the others. I can have a deep to normal voice while singing. I can't sing high though. My falsetto sounds weird.
