Wow. I think I was completely misinterpreted.
I love Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, and Bane. Metal and hardcore may have similar sounds at times, but their roots are completely different, and believe it or not, there are a ton of similarities (and quite a few differences still, obviously) in that as well.
Anyway, for the most part, I hate metalcore (there are a few decent bands but they're few and far between), and I certainly despire fashion bullshit and other superficiality within any kind of scene. I think this clip was taken at Hellfest, from the looks of the venue compared to what I saw on some Hellfest DVD's at someone's house.
Anyway, I didn't mean to provoke any kind of annoyance and condemnation because a couple of the words I said made me look new an ignorant new jack. I can assure you that I'm not, despite what it may seem.
There's tons of rad stuff in the NW, and plenty of those bands are rad, so, I definitely agree there. I've seen most of the bands mentioned, and enjoy them.

I hate to waste time even thinking about stuff like labels, but it seems like there's a lot of people walking around with different definitions of what hardcore is. It seems like it's being used as a catch-all for any kind of hard edged music in the scene lately tottally ignoring the fact that there's an allready established hardcore scene that's been going on for decades.

NOW WHEN I SAY HARDCORE I DON'T MEAN KORN-FAG AND WHEN YOU SEE THREE X'S - I AIN'T READIN' A PORN MAG.
Casey Jones and their cheesy antics aside... haha.
You're right, yeah. Hardcore is an actual genre of music, despite what the ignorant masses think. But we all know how that's turned out in the past.
You know the ones... fuck, not these guys again?!

anybody ever notice how screamo sounds more like sped up iron maiden like metal then it does punk? no, actually I haven't. i spend my time listening to good music to waste my time listening to shit like screamo. (or anything else including the phonetic 'emo')
