def. "One" by Metallica "Only For the Weak" by In Flames has the best solo ever though. Also Children of Bodom have some killer solos on their Hatebreeder album.

'Play With Me' by Extreme. The solo part was used to great effect on 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Journey.
Listen to 'Classical Thump' by Victor Wooten. The entire song is a blistering bass solo. It's almost unbelievable.
'I Will Survive' by Cake.
All the solos on Abbey Road are sweet and perfect, as I recall.
The Extreme song is the best though.

Ha! No, I'm not in Gob. I think MxPx said it best : I'm just a normal guy/I've got no regrets/ I live a normal life/ is that hard to accept?
I checked out the 'One' solo, and it's as shredding as I expected. Positively plodding compared to Classical Thump, though, which is also played on bass. I know that fast playing does not a good solo make, but it certainly is impressive.

'Play With Me' by Extreme. The solo part was used to great effect on 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Journey. I'm confused. Excellent Adventure, or Bogus Journey?

I was confused. I meant the first of the great Bill and Ted series. The song plays during the part where they're ice-skating for some reason.
I listened to Angel of Death by Slayer, and the solo's pretty shit. I don't get the whole playing-in-a-totally-different-key thing. Any fool could basically do what he (Keri King?) does in that song. It sounds like when my little sister takes my guitar and randomly hits notes really fast, trying to be like Yngwie Malmsteen or someone.
