hey all of Abbotsford and the surrounding areas! i would like to open a cd store here in downtown abbotsford. this cd store would sell many brands of hard rock, probably from your classic rock to 80s metal to grunge, as well as possibly indie rock and european import stuff. y'know, stuff like that. the thing is, i need to do a lot of work before i can start this up. one of the first things i need to do is some market research. thats where you people come in! youre my research subjects, so please respond to this and make everyone else respond.
now what i need to know is how many people would come to such a store situated probably in downtown abbotsford somewhere? keep in mind the atmosphere of this establishment would be very casual, with good music playing at all times, and where people could come and discuss the differences between germanic and scandinavian epic power metal, and such things as that. so how many of you would visit this establishment frequently? also, please answer for all of your friends, especially if they dont use this message board. also, about how many cds a month would you purchase? its things like this i need to know, so please dont be afraid to go into a little detail with your answer.
thank you muchly for your cooperation, and please spread the word, i need as many people answering as possible to make this easier. thank you and goodbye.
J.R.

a record store isn't a record store without a pool. if i had a nickel for every time i went swimming at a record store, then i'd have many nickels. it costs roughly 20 grand to build a pool.
don't forget, you need to let people sleep on your floor. there are a lot of homeless people in abbotsford. let them use your floor. seriously, it'll attract a lot of "cool" "urban" hippie customers. dude.
oh yeah, you can't forget the bingo hall in the back. if the cobalt has taught me anything --well, i've never been to the cobalt.
also, if you want to "thrive" on "profit", you really have to make sure that you aren't being greedy to your customers. if people bring you a used cd, i don't care how scratched it is (!), pay them 9 bucks for it. cd's are sold for roughly 50 bux each, so make sure you give peeps a good deal.
i wrote "bux" before.
if you want interns to work for you, you should apply for some. they will work for free...but! that's the greedy lifestyle i described earlier...pay them good money! who are you, are you dave at replay? no, you are not. so, pay them appropriately to whatever they do for you. think of a rough price, then roughly double it and give it to them earnestly. you aren't any more of a leader than us. shut up. if you want to bring peeps together (whoa! community and shit!), then you have to pay random people who come to your store. locals usually have long hair, and like comics, LIKE JER! i'm just playing games with you...jer is a good guy. but, seriously, think of a plan and stick with it! don't change your mind about things, and imagine roughly the size of the building you'll use.
grunge is in for sure. if i had some money for liking grunge, then i would have roughly a lot of money.
i hate it when ryan dyck writes "a lot" like "alot".
after being in business for a long time, you'll grow tired of the same old people again and earnestly again. soundgarden should play a show in your store. i don't care if they broke up roughly years ago, they NEED to play it.
i'd like to hear matt mcarthur's earnest opinion on this whole ordeal.
that's roughly it, good luck man.

okay...i´d say everything that jon said except there a few more things that he left out. Downtown abbotsford thrives on business´s (nicks) that have a cult following. So, Ransom, you have a long long long road ahead of you. Think of your life and then double it, your going to be fat and bald and black metal glorious!!!!!!!!!! and Im not going to lie, your gonna love having a small business...tax cuts. If you ever go to Princeton and listen to a ROCK fall of a cliff and ROLL down into a crisp flowing blue river, right the WHOLE TRIP OFF. Or if you go to Tdot and find that your stuck under a pile of HEAVY METAL, save your reciepts!!!!!!!!!! I´m in germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
