I find Final Fantasy to be a singularly frustrating act. Always exciting, but endlessly elusive. I have registered on this forum specifically for the purpose of agitating for more transparency in the release agenda for Final Fantasy, and my hope is that this thread will serve as a round-up and repository of news and rumors about when we will finally get our hands on such salival prophesies as the album Heartland. There are also two fabled EPs noted on the website's discography. These, however, are unencumbered by such mundane conveniences as release dates. Does anyone here know when we're getting this stuff? And also, will a b-sides/rarities disc ever be forthcoming? For those of us without the time to continually scramble for the many one-offs generated by Final Fantasy's dream machine, a nice collection including "What Do You Think Will Happen Next" and "Flare Gun" would really come in handy. Anyone? Yours Exasperatedly, --Mr. Id

For the two EPs, I don't know where they are now but they were supposed to be mixed mid-February.
And I sure hope there will be a b-sides rarities disc or maybe a re-edition of Young Canadian Mothers, please ?

They're referring to Stephanie Comilang who does the projection shows/magical wonders in Owen's live shows ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBbqqvlcFVw, for example), not an obscure EP title of any sort.

Anyone? Yours Exasperatedly, --Mr. Id I would suggest that the simple fact that he has been transparent in his future projects is causing your frustration. Letting people know a year before it's released or recorded what the new album was going to be would seem remarkable considering that most artists will be very guarded and only let you now a week before it's available as a download purchase. Owen is often frustrated by the lack of progress made in getting stuff he has prepared recorded and then releases. Personally it's nice to know what there is to look forward to and as far as I can tell if your a regular visitor to this forum you'd not have missed out on any of the releases. I would also love a compilation album of all the singular released tracks. I know that YCM and X came and went, but both where specially commissied as limited editions. I know that there is a great attraction to having the physical item, but I don't believe anyone who has wanted a digital copy of the tracks has missed out. In fact having a compilation album yourself would be fairly easy, all you need are the tracks, a cd writer (or mp3 player/iPod) and a few moments effort I don't think there are any plans to do a studio release of any of the many varied covers that he does during the live show and I would imagine that there would be a lot of copy-write hassles to overcome to release anything officially (we can dream and live off the good quality recording that are in circulation) The EPs are nearly ready for release from what I can gather (I'm sure all the details will be published here and on website as soon as they are known), but needed some more work. Apparently Owen is off on a writing holiday at moment for the new album before heading for studios. I'm not going to offer a defense on his part (I'm sure he can do that for himself), but I don't think you doing anything other than vent frustration.
