yes it was... by the way i like the recorded version more than the live version yesterday. came to late so i didn't see frog eyes. dirty projectors were nice, six organs too. deerhof was a crowdpleaser. all played shorter than planned. concerning owen: stephanie also was there. he took off his shoes before playing. sound was not so good in my opion. show was nice but he played much better and enthusiastic in former shows in austria (szene wien, badeschiff). there were only 2 encores. then he took his shoes and went off stage. could not stay for the afterparty because i have to work today. videos will be uploaded soon.... have fun today in london.. hope the crowd is better there! (sometimes i wish there would be age restriction in europe for concerts, too.)

I'm just hoping for an early/prompt set start. Gotta leave at like 11:40... and I don't want to miss a thing (cue epic Aerosmith strings).

I had to leave halfway through Owen's set so I didn't miss the last train home, but here's my vague musings on tonight's festivites...
Frog Eyes: A fairly good set from one of my favourite bands- good selection of songs (PAUL'S TOMB, HUZZAH!) but their sound mix was all over the place- couldn't hear the keys or lead guitar at all, and it sounded like they were playing at the end of some echoey tunnel. Carey Mercer is brilliant though, his vocals are more awesome than a particularly awesome thing.
Six Organs: I liked them a lot, which I wasn't expecting. Yay for mesmerising grooves and distorted guitars!
Dirty Projectors: Loved them. Even though they're sometimes too pretentious and outre for their own good, a good two-thirds of their set was fantastic; female harmonies plus EXCESSIVE VOLUME is always a winner in my book. They've also gained a bit of charisma and stage presence since the last time I saw them, which was good to see.
Alex Tucker and Thingybob: If I wanted to hear thirty minutes of self-indugent, mindnumbing droning, I'd watch Newsnight Review. The second worst set I've seen so far this year, if only because Cutting Pink With Knives are the musical equivalent of a terminal disease.
Final Fantasy: I only saw half the set, which was really f'in annoying because it was going swimmingly. New songs sounded great, the old stuff sounded even better than previous times I've seen him (CN Tower was sublime) and Steff's projections are in a league of their own.
So yeah- fair enough overall, although it fell far short of its potential. Just hope the Forum will get a half-competent soundman before Iron & Wine in May.

Agreed on penultimate act. Sorry to complain about anything in what was a BEAUTIFUL night, but... it was so minimalist it was almost nauseating. And I would've happily exchanged that half-hour's worth of one note for another fifteen minutes or so of FF. Everyone else performed just sparklingly though, especially Dirty Projectors, who are just always so crisp and bright and well put together. And Final Fantasy was brief but characteristically heartstopping - starting with He Poos Clouds, no less, which I'd never heard live, and minorly freaked out about. Lots of new songs (Flare Gun, Lewis, that chirpy one with the dinky vocal melody), the crowdpleasers of the old (CN Tower, Win & Regine, Hey Dad, an EXCELLENT performance of Many Lives), ending on yet another gorgeous rendition of This Lamb Sells Condos. I'm glad I risked slight panic and confusion in London for staying for the whole set. I just wish there'd been a little less dry ice swarming round the projector/our faces. Thank you, Owen! So much. Come back soon.

So upset I missed The Dream of Win and Regine and This Lamb Sells Condos (my favourite Owen song.) This is the second time I've missed the end of an FF set due to my damned reliance on public transport...

Thank you so much Owen!
It was a great night, and his set was really amazing!

Ah, I totally agree with both you guys! Especially regarding CN Tower - I'd never actually heard that song before (don't shoot me) and I actually cried.
Again, I sympathise with you on those trains, especially after the slightly traumatising Alex and Thingy. Oh, for more Owen!
(note: ARE YOU THE GUY BEHIND ME AGAIN?? If so, this is weird.)

If by "THE GUY BEHIND ME AGAIN" you mean the weirdo with the badges, then yeah, that's me...

Twas a brilliant night, i think i pretty much agree with everyone so far that dirty projectors were very impressive and Owen was of course brilliant.
I also liked the new surround sound 3D thing, it added a little more to the show and loved to see Owen with a smile on his face throughout (apart from maybe on those songs that required more attention)!
The new song, which i forget the name of (not flare gun, lewis or bass hit (which was named something else, does anybody know what this is?) but the other one...) was very good. Also, I must say the use of pedals was very impressive, especially in the intro to Flare Gun, I was somewhat dumbfounded by it! Oh, and bass hit, (sorry for calling it by the old name) was a very nice surprise, especially to hear the development upon what was already a very good song!
So yer, brilliant show, pity it wasn't longer, however if the set was an hour longer I'd probably still want more.
Now I really can't wait for the new releases this year! And hopefully some more British shows...if thats possible it Owen's seemingly hectic schedule!

Owen was awesome, the best I've seen him. Dirty Projectors were very good, but the others were pretty rubbish really. I was disappointed by Frog Eyes as their recorded stuff seems pretty good. I think we were all pretty frustrated with that shitty duo with the cello, they cut into Owen's precious time with their monotonous splurging (or "self-indugent, mindnumbing droning" to quote citizenmeh). Incidentally, does anyone know why it was cut short at midnight? Was it some sort of stupid licensing law or something? All in all, an amazing night that ended too soon. We didn't even get a cover! I was secretly hoping for him to do 'Ultimatum' as I've had that stuck in my head recently. Has anyone else got some more pictures?

It's a real shame about Frog Eyes- I completely blame the godawful sound mixing. They were so awesome when they played the Luminaire last November.
