I wonder, with some of the AHAAH guys in Beirut will they join Owen for a version of Cliquot.

Shhh... Im taking the stance that even acknowledging the possibility of such things in type will reduce the odds of them happening but Id love to see some huge collaboration between all the acts.

love that you're playing dublin. can you please play play furniture in dublin, such a beautiful song interwining the painfully wonderful lyrics with the changing key in music. an absolute number one for me...

I just bought my tickets and can't wait!!
I sure do hope though that they don't check IDs... Few things would be worse than turning up and not being able to get in.

This was poor. Not "poor" poor but poor for Owen.

By the way, I heard Owen will be joining Jens Lekman on stage on Wednesday night in Whelans.

You must have been at a different show. I thought it was excellent. If I was to make a complaint it would have been the keyboard sounded extremely harsh and drowned out the vocals on the keyboard led songs a bit. Also the set was abit too short but other than that it was great as always.
Rather than crosspost on your other post I thought the quadrophonic sound worked really well. It was definetly more noticeable on some songs rather than others but it really added to a few songs that I knew well. Certainly I felt that there was strings coming from behind me at times. At other times the effect of replacing the string quartet with quadrophonia was evident as well. Where exactly where you seated because if you were right in front of Owen you were probably seated beside me?
Also thanks for the Lekman info. Hope its true.

Smack bang centre, front row. Marginally to the left of Owen.
In the middle of writing a review, I can post the link here if you want. Just so my only word in the matter isn't poor.

I was also at the gig and thought it was excellent. Admittedly it was only my 3rd FF gig so I have little in the way of comparison (the other 2 venues were also significantly different so difficult to compare). But I left the venue thoroughly entertained and in awe of the beauty of his music and the skill with which it is arranged and performed. I was particularly impressed with the Simon Bookish cover which I hadn't heard before (Interview). My only qualm was also with the sound (keys/synth sounded a little furry) and yes- the vocals could have been mixed up a bit. I was 3 rows back and slightly to the left and the quad sound was noticeble occasionally but didn't make a huge difference to my ears.
What about Miracle Fortress ? Weren't those drummers great !

They were very good. Enjoyed them a great deal.
Thought the lady opening the gig solo was pretty charming, looked very nervous though.
