I wish I had been better prepared for those songs. I've gotten so used to just playing with pedals and singing with microphones that it took me by surprise.

Awesome!
I saw the Takeaway Show that Andrew Bird did a few months ago...it was fantastic too. It's kind of interesting to compare stripped-down versions of Andrew and Owen songs. Similarities and differences show up in a whole new light.

I, too, really liked the stripped-downedness (which is most definitely a word) of both songs. Simply wonderful, in both senses.
I especially enjoyed the explanation of "Horsetail Feathers" after the credits.

It's a good thing it wasn't raining... then we couldn't have seen that awesome action sequence.

Andrew KILLED IT. That version of "Weather Systems" is grounds for deification. Do you know how hard it is to play violin and sing?
I've gotten a few requests to play acoustically and sing and it's not really within my skill set. I'm so used to hearing the violin amplified that I even plug in to practise Bach. Going to work on it, though. It's kind of romantic, yes? To just be able to play-sing at the drop of the button?

I really love Take Away Shows. The best one is either Andrew Bird playing Spare-oh's, or Arcade Fire playing Wake Up in the middle of the crowd. I am really glad that Owen decided to run, it made it much more interesting.

You could always do some more tickling of the ivories, although the running away bit would be much hardered and you'd probably need Pat and Steph to help push the joanna .... and I think you did just fine and the spontanous trip into running made the whole thing more entertaining, although if you'd managed to fall flat on your face and kept singing/playing we'd have been more impressed

the "i'm not stumbling, honest!" run
almost as good as an "i'm not running, honest!" run, but not quite

That was pretty spectacular.
Jules - I've just seen the Coventry piano performance and I gotta ask - is there anywhere you're NOT, or are you in fact omnipotent?

A. Yes.... you see Andy I'm always truthful if a bit obscure. I'm still working on the unlimited power stuff however. If I ever perfect it I'll let you know
