Jules has his Heartland LP in his hand right now. My son immediatety asked how I'd get it in the CD slot. He's probably never seen an LP in his life. Love the back cover..Twelve Songs. Already?! I've just realised that last month I sent postcards from London and it took 3 weeks to arrive. If it's the same with my order of Heartland, I might not have a chance to listen to it before Owen's show in Paris. Maybe I should have chosen the expensive fast delivery. Yeah and the sound is so much richer than the digital version. Incredible is the word |

So, reviews of Heartland are beginning to come out of everywhere and we, members of this forum, are mentionned on one of these, which made me laugh a bit. (link: thequietus.com/articles/03484-final-fantasy-owen-pallett-heartland-album-review ). Reviews are for the majority positive which makes me hapy for Owen. I see some reviewers doing the comparison with Joanna Newsom's Ys. I am still digging up some reviews though. |

Ugh, I hate it when albums are slightly too long to go on one vinyl so you end up with only two songs on some sides.
of Montreal got it right with Hissing Fauna; the album was on three sides and then the fourth side had bonus material on it. Was sweet.

Yeah, I was surprised to find a mysterious Heartland shaped package in my mailbox yesterday, and even more surprised that nobody else had gotten theirs. It's really beautiful. Unfortunately, I couldn't redeem my digital download code, so I suppose I'll have to contact Domino. Still, I listened to the LP a few times yesterday. Absolutely amazing.

I'm a bit conflicted though... should I change all past albums from Final Fantasy to Owen Pallett in my itunes?

Heartland day for me was December 22nd at 2 in the morning when we discovered the leak and started propogating it...hehe.
I need to go pick up that and "Travels With Myself And Another," by Future of the Left, I've been meaning to pick that up legitimately for a while.
He's planning on re-releasing everything with the new name in due time, so get a headstart and do so.

..So I got my record today! by record I mean my (((grrrls))) the Scottish Play 10".  I mean, its awesome!  just not Heartland, or even the Lewis 7" (Jules, I got the Scottish Play from Insounds, I'm not sure if your copy came with a digital download but mine did not. If your son figures out how to put these things in disk readers, let me know so I can listen on the go too!) |

Yeah, no digital download on my copy, although I got sent a second copy by accident, so I can give it to my son to experiment with on the old computer to see if he has better luck than me as getting it to play Great record though, must rip to digital when I remember. |
