“I didn’t make a record. I couldn’t be bothered to make a record. It would have been too difficult. It was easier not to make a record.”
The words of Glaswegian absurdist David Shrigley regarding his LP-sized book of song lyrics Worried Noodles, released in 2006. Unfortunately it was missing one crucial component - the music.
No longer. Tomlab have assembled artists ranging from Liars to David Byrne, Deerhoof to Grizzly Bear and Islands to Franz Ferdinand, leaving them to their own devices to produce a composition citing Shrigley's absurd scrawlings from said book.
Again titled Worried Noodles, it will be released as a 3xLP and/or a 2xCD, the latter with a 106-page hardback book of Shrigley's work, on October 23.
