I need new music, I'm sick of everything on my ipod, accept owen but I need variety, reccomend me something since we all here seem to have a liking for Final Fantasy. Owen if you want to reccomend me something too, that would be wonderful.

the holy fuck ep that owen features on.
the field - lovely electronica (a little trancey even, but in a good way)
Lightening bolt - noise rock. two guys beat the hell out of a bass and some drums. Takes multiple listens to slow down but well worth it. The drummer features on Volta.
The first Oi Va Voi Album - Laughter Through Tears. Experimental Jewish music band from London. Beautiful.
Camille - Le Fil In 2005 she released the album Le Fil, which was produced in collaboration with English producer MaJiKer. This album incorporated an avant-garde concept - a string, or thread ("le fil"), which was a drone that persisted throughout the entire course of the album. All of the songs in this album are based on the exploration of the voice, with only a double bass or double bass and keyboard as accompanying instruments.

Great list, Jules. Let me add: Tokyo Police Club Bell Orchestre Destroyer Feist The Joel Plaskett Emergency Royal Wood Matias (Varied, yes. But all awesome.) Oh, and if you're looking for a kind of sampler, and are looking for new music, check out CBC Radio 3! The Podcast and R3-30 are always packed with great stuff. Like, really great.

The National - start with 'Alligator' and you'll become sufficiently hooked in time for the new album - 'Boxer'.

oh! & lately i'm addicted to:
The Books Swan Lake (Daniel Bejar's other band, oh god he's so amazing!!!) Blonde Redhead This Song Is A Mess But So Am I Fond of Tigers (atmospheric jazzy lovliness) Tim Buckley - Greetings from L.A. (k, the song 'sweet surrender' from this album still gives me the shivers & wrong thread but uncontainable curiosity as to how owen would cover that one!)
& i DEFINITELY agree w/jules, ren & karpe & i'll be checking out the bands i don't recognize from their lists, yay! thanks guys!

Everything from the 'Wolf Parade camp' is excellent imo. Esp Jonny and the Moon, Swan Lake and Sunset Rubdown. Oh and Wolf Parade of cause.
Would Sage Francis go down like a ton of bricks here? I think he is really great.
