Ha! I finally broke down & invested in some violin lessons as it was frustratingly obvious I wasn't getting any further on my own & didn't feel like unlearning a zillion bad habits. And oh! oh! oh!! it's so Exciting!! & I'm practicing til my arms are like wet noodles cause I can't stop myself & meanwhile I had formulated A Plan!!! Which has now been Foiled!!! drat! I got my violin teacher all hooked on the FF by err... "sharing" my music and I was hoping to be able to take him to the show but it's SOLD OUT!! arghh. gah. meh. /goes-back-to-plotting&practicing

i played the violin for 8 years and then quite, havnt played for 2 years and now am serioiusly considering picking it back up. the problem is though i find i tso hard to stay in tune while im playing. i wish i were at a level of violin playing where i could start playing for fun. I'm kind of in the same boat, I played for about 8 years and then came to college to have it stop. I think my major motivation for picking it back up again is tied between Owen and Flogging Molly. Ive just been messing around and looking for sheet music of violinists in rock bands etc, its made the violin a lot more enjoyable for me.

Ha the sole cellist...does that count? I can kind of play some songs, just transposed a bit and choppy. I haven't been playing that long, but my brother is a music freak so i have a looper at my house

I've played the violin for 9 or 10 years now. *feels proud* I figured out my favourite song, "Many Lives", after listening to it every single night after I heard it. I like to play the keyboard and guitar pieces too, though it takes me forever trying to figure it out.
