Are any of you FF fans Violinists too?

I'm very curious.

I've been playing the Violin for 8 years and it was only until I heard Owen's music that I got really interested in playing.

I based my second higher music composition off of his songs which I named 'Ode to Owen Pallett' and it passed! Woo.

(When I met him he thought that was pretty cool although he could of been lying...)

I can also play my all time favourite song, 'The CN Tower Belongs to the Dead' on my Violin. Sadly, I don't have an electric pick up on my Violin so I can't play it as funky as Owen does.

And I just saw today that Owen as a Bmus in Composition which is the exact degree I want to get when I go to University. x.x''

Unfortunately I don't play. After seeing FF live I really wanted to learn, but I seriously can't play any instruments. Trust me, I've tried.

I own one and fiddle around with it (pun intended) but I'm pretty horrible. I might be too lazy to commit myself to learning it, but it's a pretty nice violin so I will once things settle down for me.

hmmm..... yes? .....no. i really can't call myself a violinist yet although i'm attempting the daunting task of teaching myself. i'm stupidly stubborn sometimes so i think this might work.

I played the violin for three years and hated it, mostly because of my teacher and quit. Now I've started again because of Final Fantasy

I actually played viola for 5 years and I just picked it up again today and tried to play some of the stuff people transcribed out on here, but I'm not very good. I wasn't very good to begin with though, but I wish I kept up with it, 'cause I'd probably be so much better. I'll probably keep trying some more though because of Owen. ;D

I'm self taught on viola for close to 2 years now. Im not really interested in the conventional string sound or fiddle music so my practising material is sparse. Been playing mostly permafrown songs and a mean rendition of honour the dead or else.

I had violin lessons for about ten years--played in a youth orchestra, did RCM exams in the creepy ol' Masonic Temple every once in a while. Lots of hard work, but rewarding. Sadly, it lapsed when I started university. My god, that was a long time ago. I do still try to break it out now and then.

I played for a bit, but gave up about 8 years ago. How I rue that decision now! But there's still time to pick up a violin and spin a web of sound, so I reckon Owen has inspired me to play again.

Eeee. I worry that's what's going to happen with me and piano. I used to play for hours and hours a day, but since I started uni and moved, etc...I haven't played much. It's saddening. I get urges to play but then can't. But...summer next week .: back home to my love.

As for violin, no I don't play, but I'd like to try it one day. I need to get my hands on a violin first though.

I've been working on a synth-pop cover of arctic circle. It's not there yet, but soonish?
