How awesome was that show!?! What a great combination of artists and talent.
I love how much the crowd appreciated him and how we got a second encore. Does he normally do two? I can't wait til he comes back!
Questions: 1. What was the song he played for the second encore? I've never heard it before and it was one of my favorites.
2. Who's coming with me for Phoneme's, Bob Wiseman and Scott Thompson? I want to make new friends with good taste in music!

that was the best freakin show ever. when everybody was lining up to leave, all you could see was everybody's faces in total shock and people's jaws wide open...and all along the ailes you could hear EVERYBODY say: "have YOU ever seen something like THAT? wOW!!!" or "HOLY SHIT...i did not even fathom that..that anybody could do THAT" and it made me happy cuz everybody just seemed so humbled by it.
and yes i really want to see the phonemes and bob again...but i forgot when they're playing again...was is 1 or 2 weeks after?

What a wonderful show. I've never seen something like the climax of Please Please Please or the bitter sorrow of Better Than Worse on stage. Please come back to Vancouver soon, Owen!
I taped the show via the soundboard (I hope it's okay with Owen), and I am just converting the wav's to mp3's now. Does anyone know the name of the first song and the last song? Those are the only two I can't identify.

If you played me the first song I think I'd remember, it's a bit of a blur to me right now. I'm thinking it was Song song song... and the last None of you will ever see a penny, I'm not too sure about my memory right now though. Feel free to correct me.
PS: I want your recordings and video if possible. Did you grab the openers too? I want to hear the "she loves three men" & "saddest sock puppet theatre I've ever seen" songs especially...

Here's the link to my blog where you can download the entire show in mp3 format: noiseandsound.blogspot.com/2006/09/final-fantasy-ubc-norm-theatre.htmlDid you grab the openers too? I want to hear the "she loves three men" & "saddest sock puppet theatre I've ever seen" songs especially... I taped Bob Wiseman, I think I'll probably share that on Friday night. School is making me busy

Nice job on these concert files, Dinosaur (Tom?)--and thanks for sharing! I recorded it on an iPod w external mic, and was going to post it after attempting to tweak/clean it up a bit. Thing is, I was seated about 6th row, & didn't expect to see quite such huge stacks of speakers on stage, so as vibrant as it sounded, there are "hotspots" and crackling to contend with, as the live mix felt bass-heavy at times (probably partly to do with room acoustics too). Moot point now, though, since it's hard to beat a soundboard rec. I do have 2 of Magali's set (the ones before "Steeples & People" and "Porcupines") that I can share, dependent on my time and peoples' interest. For both, she was accompanied on the Rhodes piano by Mr. Pallett. Liked her set--only wish I could've gotten a couple more. What did you guys think of Bob's coloured-lights virtuosity and the audience-participation in Magali's set? Some real-live DIY Toronto fun Discuss.

By the way, to add to your previous setlist: 2. "Unknown 1" = Do You Love, 7. "-->" = Hey Dad, 17. "Unknown 2" = The Miner Becomes Forgetful. (very intense rendition. awesome)

Yah, she's funny and compelling in performance. Bob "100 Instruments Record" film was pretty hilarious. (shh-I believe they're married)Very cute.
About those 2 songs: on second thought, I'm going to the Victoria show & probably try to capture a few more of her set, so I'll see what I can do with all the audio in one batch, so to speak.
Anyone know if a lot of the same "crew" will be in Victoria tomorrow?
(Vito, by any chance are you the same as that one on the Lindyhopper.ca forum?)

Vito--I could be mistaken; haven't really been on LH.ca for about a year now. Nice to meetcha anyway Dino--Fo' sho' you can host it on NoiseAndSound, if it turns out good, with the usual niceities, of course. ;-) No prob. We'll see just how good I can get it; still got a bit of a learning curve w/ my software (I'm no expert). You've got a flac version now? Das ist Auchgezeichnet! (sp?)
