Owen should totally cover "The Man Who Sold the World".
He almost did once at the Haldern Pop Festival (which I experienced vicariously through the wonders of YouTube), but he changed his mind at the last minute, leaving us all in such cruel anticipation and ultimately disappointment, which is OK considering the fact that he didn't have to chance to practice it at all.
That was a really long sentence.
Anyhoo, I think it would be wickedly awesome if he did that.

(Preferably at the Maxwell's concert on November 10th, the one that I will be attending. It would definitely be the cherry atop what promises to be a very auspicious birthday celebration.)
-clears throat-
Yes.

I would also like to see this at the Maxwell's show, but I'm not picky.

Or maybe Interpol - Take you an a cruise I always thought 'Stella Was A Diver' would be a good one for a cover, but I think any (well, most) Interpol songs would sound great as Final Fantasy songs.

I mean Nirvana did it so famously it'd be ridiculous for him to do it. it'd be like him covering Hurt by Nine Inch Nails after Johnny Cash's version.

You have a good point, but if you saw the video, I'm sure you wouldn't think he was joking around. People were flinging suggestions at him and he was contemplating as to which one he should play. When he said "Hmm. Man Who Sold the World? That would be really cool." I immediately thought, "Whoa. That would be sick." But yeah, I presume that it would seem a bit trite...

I read in an interview that he liked "Cherry Blossom Color Season" from Katamari Damacy... I've wanted to hear him play it ever since then. I wonder if he knows the words?

Do "Wet Blanket" by Metric. The vocals are really choppy and fun and easy to pull off, there's also a really great spot for vocal looping during the build-up. The build-up would be so cool because you could keep adding the vocals and other layers and then it goes silent and there's just a short vocal part and it goes back to the main riff and stuff. It'd be sweet done with looping, pleeeeeease.
