WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Tonight was amazing.
Had to wait outside in the norfolk rain for 40mins but so worth it!!!!
100 hundred people, tiny room, owen playing in the middle of the room...barefoot, wearing a van halen tshirt! It was amazing, beautiful wow.
I'm far too excited at the moment to post pics or even remember the setlist, but there were all the biggies (excpet He Poos Clouds) and the encore was brilliant, complicated though- from simon bookish's Trainwreck/Raincheck ... First time i've had the chance to see Final Fantasy and i want to try and get to one of the london shows...i have to see owen perform again!!!
The performance also involved a projector, but not video or anything. Movies made of single ascertates, layered over each other and moved and brought in and out of focus, it was beautiful, clever and the ending of "the eight somethingorothers of magic" (the slide..show) was really moving, stars and twinkling. Maybe someone else's seen it.
CN Tower and This Lamb Sells Condos were ridiculously "wow", as was the whole thing pretty much.
I went up to Owen in between support acts and mentioned UKK and said hi. But i was a bit starstruck so I got an autograph for my poor sister who wasn't able to see one of her fav acts, and then went very red when he started talking about this map i had and where i'd travelled from. i went back to sitting on the floor of the venue with a very big grin.
After the encore i had a nice walk back to Norwich train station; jumping in puddles and trying to moonwalk down slippery pavements, jumping zebra crossings, balancing on the kerb and doing other stupid childish things.
But then one anglia (now without a doubt the worst rail operator) went and spoilt the near perfect evening. Because of engineering works i had to get a train from Norwich to amiddleofnowheretown, Stowmarket...Then a scheduled bus to Ipswich. I'd made sure there was then a train from ipswich to Colchester, but me and my two friends got to ipswich and looked at the depatures board...nothing. one of my friends lives in ipswich so he was fine, but me and this (hot!) girl had to plan how to get home. in the end we got a taxi halfway home and then dragged a parent out to collect us. But so, instead of getting home at 12 ish (like i should have as the gig ended around half ten) I got home at quarter past one...hmpphhh
But i guess that sort of makes the evening super special...
