Why oh why are there no dates in the middle bit of England? I mean there are LOADS of fab venues in Birmingham for a start! Does anyone know of a CHEAP/decent hotel in Bristol city centre? The cheapest I can find is £90 I've looked at all options, but even getting a flight from Birmingham to the Dublin gig would mean me having to sell a kidney or something Owen, if you read this.....I WISH you were doing The Social in Nottingham again! **sigh** Spidey =^..^=

Are you going to these shows on your lonesome? Would you perhaps like to meet up? Trekking to strange and farflung cities will be decidedly less scary if we form a sort of TEAMMM.

Thanks for that clockworkpurple I just got all excited, coz I checked out availability and it came up with £26 I ran to get my debit card and when I came back to the screen I realised I'd put the wrong date in (put 25 Aug in DOH)!!! When I put 25 Oct in it came up with £60! Which is a lot better than £90, but still quite expensive I'll keep trying........I might get a better deal in a week or two? Thanks again for your help Love on ya Spidey =^..^=

hello forumfolk. first-time poster, longer-time final fanatic. i'm somewhat irked at the age restrictions placed on the gig nearest me for this tour, the Scala in London (if that's still on). being not particularly, er, ballsy, i sent a grovelling email to them asking if exceptions were made for under-18s with the presence of chaperones or the solemn vow of not drinking. a lovely person at the Luminaire granted me this, actually. this time, though, typically, being three months shy of 18, i'm going to miss out another great night. the Scala replied with a sour apology/refusal. something about insurance. liability. pfft. to quote my mother, this is prejudism!has anyone else been to the venue and found out whether they really check that carefully? i don't have the money or the pep to start printing Boycott Scala stickers i'm going with the whole "whatever the odds" spirit of this thread, see.

If anyone's going to London on their own I would totally form a Super-Team with them, seeing as I'm going on my own anyway Happy birthday Spidey!

has anyone else been to the venue and found out whether they really check that carefully? I've never been to that venue, but in the UK I have never had anyone check my ID. (I'm 19, so it's not like I'm looking way over). In the US I always get carded and X's on my hands. If it's not way far away from you, I would say at least attempt it.

im in exactly the same boat regarding the age thing... at the moment im going down the 'pleading with event organiser' route.. although because its about insurance for the venue i may be in a very bad position at least i didnt buy tickets before i found out about the age limit.. not like other gigs eek

debodormir - thanks for the advice. i've been told this by others, actually, and i know there's a small chance of not getting carded. i'm just slightly now the Scala've replied with the words "unfortunately we have to be very strict about our over 18's policy due to the provisions of our license." - this kind of gives me the feeling the alarm is raised in a way. & alice - it worked once for me, so as long as you're not trying the Scala, good luck to you! maybe i should persist with the Scala people, on the other hand. annoy them into agreeing
