ooooh, I'm not a big fan of London gigs, but I agree, The Scala looks like a lovely venue, very swanky  Still hoping for some Midlands gigs tho   |

Also, the Metro, the free daily paper, has surprisingly good listings for that day, if you're being spontaneous. |

I hate to nag Owen, but will there be more than the four Northern Ontario dates that have been mentioned (Thunder Bay, North Bay, Wawa, and Sault St. Marie) for the Canadian tour? I was just curious, but in either case I am willing to travel four or five hours to see you for the first time. What Canadian tour dates have been mentioned? Where? Inquiring minds want to know! They're right there in the brackets. I found them at Brooklyn Vegan. 9/08/2006 - TBA, North Bay, ON 9/09/2006 - TBA, Sault Saint Marie, ON 9/10/2006 - TBA, Wawa, ON 9/11/2006 - TBA, Thunder Bay, ON They're all to be announced, however. As far as I know, that means it may not even happen. |

Aw c'mon Spidey, how far away from the Midlands is Bristol?? A couple of hours' drive at most. So many decent gigs happen in cities you can easily get to from where you live. So stop whinging! |

Aw c'mon Spidey, how far away from the Midlands is Bristol?? A couple of hours' drive at most. So many decent gigs happen in cities you can easily get to from where you live. So stop whinging! Yes, I know so many decent gigs happen near hear, there are some FAB venue's in the Midlands, which is why I can't understand why Owen is avoiding the place Bristol may only be a couple of hours drive (and that both ways = 4 hours driving) but the venue (according the blurb on their website) says that the main band doesn't come on stage until 10.15, and that they close at 11.00, so it's 45 mins MAX ..... PLUS to drive there after work (we get up at 6.00am) would be too much (we're old ya know) So we'd need to take a couple of days holiday really...and I only have 5 floating days from now till next August!!!  Mid week is bad! If it was at a weekend it would be a different kettle of fish! |

If it was at a weekend it would be a different kettle of fish! i see. well that is unfortunate. personally i'm delighted owen's playing in Bristol, couldn't have hoped for anywhere nearer really. 250-mile round trip but it'll be worth it. it'd be so rubbish to live in canada or america where you can be REALLY far from venues. i'd be really surprised if the main act only got 45 minutes, doesn't sound very likely, even if it is on their website. |
