AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!! Just had my head reamed when I googled final fantasy for some lyrics and voila - a milliarde of little plastic Japanime people. I was thinking to myself is this one Owen? No, maybe this one! No Owen there, but finally I fell into this little rabbit hole and voila. 'nuff said. Q: Forever WALking ALone - is this in the game? and I suppose there are great white hot eruptions and bloody sky and things collapsing around the dejected hero? (have never been in a computer game so this vision must come from cultural subtexts.) LOVE "If I Were A Carp" There is something decidedly Ambrose Bierce about it.

kinda frustrating having the lyrics and not the music to go with them.

OWEN PALLETT! I wish you'd read this. I am completely confused about FF and "Forever Walking Alone" and your being Final Fantasy etc. I was visiting a friend who has much music on the computer & asked about Final Fantasy - meaning you, as I had read about you in The Times. Well, as you no doubt can tell from this early morning's post, I lauded you, especially that song. At 5.28 am however, I awoke to the conundrum of whether I were actually commenting on your work or someone else's. "Final Fantasy" Sephiroth, Advent's Children etc - are they yours or is this the kind of melee you can get into with the adoption of a name that is in use by someone else? Perhaps I am just too far over the hill to be able to discern who is who in the culture of the day. I would welcome clarification from anyone, anyone at all.

This is Owen. I have no idea what you're talking about. "Forever Walking Alone" doesn't sound like one of my songs. Usually I bike. And, more importantly, "forever" is one of the words that is banned, along with "eternity" and "soul". If you ever hear somebody use those three words... DON'T TRUST THEM.
I have nothing to do with Final Fantasy the video game. This band is named in tribute to that venerable and inescapable series, in the grand old tradition of naming your band after a movie, book or play. The Google problems this creates are obvious and wonderful, and entirely not my problem.
If you want to hear what Final Fantasy sounds like, kindly visit the Myspace account, or check back here in a month when we have a newly designed website (gasp!), which will feature many more abuses and embarassments.

We've discussed changing the band name. What do you think?
Finally, Fantasy Pinal Pantasy Semifinal Fantasy, or Semiformal Fantasy The Man From F.I.N.A.L. Final Fantasy 1979 Test Icles Owen Birdwolf

Ha! Test Icles.
The boy *I* knew at MD wouldn't've come up with that. (And yes, I realize wouldn't've isn't a real word).
I think you should call yourself "Superlative Jenn" just for fun.

You! Aha!
You sent me an e-mail, sorry I haven't replied yet. I'm really behind. Do you remember a certain mutual friend (Dave) trying to convince us that "Superlative Whale" was the raddest, baddest band name ever?
Anyway, one more thing: sorry the songs are out and about yet. Once we get the manufactured CDs back from the, um, manufacturer, they'll be in the hands of everybody and anybody.... who owns a radio station or comes to a show.
Okay, goodnight, I have a bedtime date with Jeffery Steingarten.

Pinal Pantasy would be great...but then you'd have to sing in a filipino accent, which I have no idea what so ever to describe. All I know is that you'd lose all your remote fans and question how scary dark men with machettes really are. But hey it be fun.. I say mix it up, be; the testy semiformal birdwolf from 1979. TTSB1979 Pitchfork will hate you. Achieve! my father always said. Hey, by the way its been months for my 7". Im gonna send hate mail laced with viagra soon.

ha ha ha!
I like the name you have now, but I must admit that when I had to look for you on the net for the several first times, it drove me mad! But I FINALly found you ;D
If you really should consider changing your name (but I strongly doubt that) at least keep the "FANTASY" part!

Are you really concidering changing the name Owen? I think Final Fantasy is a great name but if due to legal reasons you had to change I think Vinyl Fantasy would be a good replacement.
