Hello cassiacat. I went to Austin this year on my hols, for ACL and to generaly hang about. It was brilliant. Im gonna come back asap. x You did? Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sorry for the 42 C weather. That was a bit warm, even for us. And sorry for all the dust. I swear that was a fluke landscaping/weather thing, as its usually quite green here. And sorry for how terribly ACL treats its concertgoers. That part's pretty standard, actually. I hope you had some locals to show you around town properly. If you didn't, then you really must come back, and I'll be happy to be your guide.

Thank you thats very sweet. and yes... IT WAS HOT and DUSTY... esp coming from london, where 32C is the hotest day of the year! I did enjoy the festival but i think maybe the heat killed the atmosphere a little. It was quite hard work but fun. we also went to the parish to see soundteam (warming up for walkmen). That was really good to. and swimming in barton springs!

Well, ACL fest is generally pretty terrible anyway. I mean, yes, a huge part of it being terrible is that it's held during one of the hottest months of the year (and during hurricane season to boot, which means that about 10,000 people on any given day of ACL fest are hurricane refugees from other states with nothing better to do than crowd into the already-over-filled festival). But it's also terrible that bands only get 30 minute sets, and that the festival routinely runs out of water towards the end of the evening.
You should come during the cooler months (Nov-Apr), or come during SXSW, which is much better than ACL fest on approximately 3923193759126973 different levels.
