They are coming soon. I'm having problems with my host website that will be resolved in days.
I'll be posting two songs from the Music Gallery set ("Illusion Song" and "If I Were A Carp").
Later, tracks from the 7"s and stuff like that.
Check the "Rel" section.
Thank you very much everybody for coming. Thank you Carl Wilson for your rapturous blog-up. Thanks Music Gallery, Paul Hodge, Jonny, St. Kitts Quartet, everybody. I have had a very lovely week.

They're up.
If you downloaded anything before yesterday, you should try it again. These versions are far better mixed.
Matt had his EQ settings wrong on his monitors so everything sounded very boomy.
Now things are righteous.

I love the new songs as much as the "Has a Good Home" songs but for entirely different reasons.

I saw the classic Stephen Sondheim musical "Sweeney Todd" a few weeks ago, and "If I Were a Carp" reminds me a lot of the score.

I think what reminded me of the Sweeney Todd score was a) the creepy, unsettling violin lines and b)the screaming.
It's really refreshing to hear someone actually use an string ensemble well.
A lot of times, you will see, like, fucking Aerosmith performing with the fucking London Symphony Orchestra on TV, and the string arrangments will be so lame. They will just double the melody line or whatnot, and the players are completely underused and misused. The bands think that a couple of violinists will make them more credible as real musicians, but they won't.
What is so great about the new songs is how powerful and carefully wrought the string arrangements are.

illusion has become one of my favorites. it's killing me to know what the lyrics are that come directly after "hey hey all the boys i have ever loved have been digital." can't wait for more mp3s!
