I AM CONFUSED!!! pitchfork said this a few weeks back:
"Next up, something for legal download addicts: the iTunes version of Women as Lovers will come with an EP's worth of exclusive bonus tracks, five in all. One of the songs, "Juarez", features vocals from Eugene Robinson of Oxbow.
What's more, Xiu Xiu will donate proceeds from the sales of Women as Lovers to Nyumbani, a Kenyan organization dedicated to helping children orphaned amidst the AIDS crisis in Africa. Nyumbani, as you may recall, was also the benefactor of a recent DJ gig put together by members of Xiu Xiu."
now, xiu xiu's site has mentioned nothing about either of these things, firstly wal is on uk itunes but not us itunes and there is no free e.p to be seen anywhere.
i havent bought an album for years, i download them off blogs etc and then try and see the band live and buy a shirt instead but if proceeds from the album are going to charity then i'm gonna buy it.
any ideas??? roon

-I think you must buy the whole iTunes album to get this. -These songs are supposed to be on a 7" for free at shows ,for those who preordered

Last night I searched "Woman As Lovers" on the newest version of itunes, and the bonus tracks were all individually available for purchase. Buy now?

I pre-ordered the CD + DVD from Kill Rock Stars like two weeks ago and it said nothing about this. I pre-ordered the LP from AbKo and it said nothing.
Hopefully I'll make it to a show and buy some stuff. And what about this 7" at the shows for people who pre-ordered? I want mine.

I believe that this was stated by Jamie on the day of the preorder, either on this board or on xiuxiu.org or on myspace. I cannot find the information right now. I BEEELEEEEVE Jamie said that there are 500 of these 7" singles and you have to ask for one at the show and they were for people who preordered... I hope you get one!

maybe you guys can "reserve" one over email or something.. that's what I tried to do.
people should have to bring a printout of their receipt or something to be able to get it... but I am sure there were international preorders, too...
to love xiu xiu is to love a challenge of collecting!

Emily! It's a tough decision between San Francisco and Los Angeles! My friend Andrea lives in the city and wants me to stay at her place. But my other (closer) friend lives in Los Angeles. If I'm going to Bottom of the Hill, I'll let you know!

If I can get my boyfriend to go, it will be the Bay Area so we can go to Berkeley.

This is such bullshit, their shows are always 18+. Even at venues that are not 18+ all the time. What do they have against their unluckily under 18 listeners?

I'll just be mad if it's a tour only 7". There won't be any left for California. John, Emily, and I will be raise hell! (And anyone else in California.)

We should try to fight them if we don't get a copy! Let's get matching uniforms and big boots!
