she seems to come here most often of the xiu xiu gang. so caralee, if you feel so inclined to answer... Do you sing lead on any of the new album songs? Did the Under Pressure cover make the cut, and did Gira singing Bowie's part? Will you come to DC more often once the Bush admin. is gone?.... your reward for any answered questions will be untold mountains of gold and precious gems. thank you.

reported on pfork a while ago. i'll look it up and post the link. they said it was potentially to be included on the next album and that jamie was singing the part of freddie mercury and michael gira (swans, currently angels of light) would do bowie. this was a year or so ago, but in the meantime jamie has since mentioned on the xiu xiu blog that there would be a cover on the album and that michael gira contributed to the album in some way. putting two and two together it seems like the cover was recorded and will make the album. here's the fork article www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38020-xiu-xiu-adopt-new-member-prep-isixthi-lp

zomgzzz Jarritos is great. If you really want to die happy you need to taste some Mexican Joya apple soda. It's seriously a party in my mouth and only I'm invited.
Is that Bush administration thing really true? They come to TX a whole lot and he claims to be from here. I personally hate politics, and I would hate to find out that DC folks are being denied the Xiu for something like that.

they've never said anything about avoiding dc because of the bush administration. but in the four or five years i've been a fan, it seems they've toured the country 9000 times and only been here a few. the question was only half-serious though; i doubt any band would deny their fans a show just because it would be in close proximity to the asshole president.

You'd be surprised. Mogwai have said on their sites that they wouldn't tour in the US because we were stupid enough to elect him twice or something like that. But they're just all around assholes, really. I do love their music, but the more I read about them, the more I absolutely detest them. I read their blog after they played SXSW, and they said the absolute shittiest thing I've ever had the misfortune of reading.
"We get to the venue, and instead of giving us free beers, they only gave us half-off, so we played a half-off set."

lilacmess,
my favorite video game ever ever ever is zelda ocarina for time for n64. i also like games like tetris and dr. mario. oh and animal crossing. what about you?
emilyisfancy,
um.... this kind of question freaks me out because than i have to think about how i really feel about life. i think that there is a lot of religious influence on xiu xiu. not always positive. maybe the way people in our lifes deal with things, sometimes using religion to figure them out. i myself am completely freaked out when i try to think about these things. i feel that a lot of what xiu xiu is about is surviving, whatever way is possible, through religion, through lack of religion, through our own psychological diagnosis on each other or friends or family. does this make any sense? maybe the answer is simply i dont know.
sithie,
i think that my favorite music video of all time is karma police by radiohead. it makes you feel like you are in a movie that has a bad ending. what is yours?
kitchencabinet, my favorite body of water is the pacific ocean my favorite animals are cats my favorite color is green what does that say about me?
