(i don't think anyone's being mean, it's just annoying when someone is so mediocre and affectless and insincere (and can't even pronounce the name right) about something we are obsessed and fanatical about...something as great as xiu xiu!!!)

dude. she interviewed them and was clearly nervous and she knew their music well enough to NOT be a COMPLETE idiot. that's all that matters. she digs the xiu. good for her. i still think you guys are being mean.

if i was to be mean, i would say that i did happen to think she was a COMPLETE idiot. but i'm just saying if you aren't going to be passionate enough about le shwee to know simple things like how to pronounce the name correctly, or who ches smith is, or if they have done any side projects, then you probably shouldn't expect people to appreciate your interview. i consider lack of passion disgusting...if you're going to do something, especially concerning something so deeply important to people, like art and music, put some fucking feeling into it; she can't expect praise from something that is so obviously mediocre. maybe she didn't make a COMPLETE idiot of herself, but it was pretty damn close. rubbish!

hey, ive interviewed jamie and caralee, and i had met/seen them prior. its really strange interviewing a band you enjoy. i don't blame her for being silly or anything like that around them, if she enjoys xiu xiu then she's obviously nervous. as far as using 'like' you can hardly escape it, in any sort of conversation.

yeah, this is pretty much similar to all the interviews i used to do when i had a radio show. i came off as a total idiot to these bands i had listened to forever
