the other day in french class, my teacher called me her "chou chou" which sounds exactly like "xiu xiu" and i was incredibly confused. "chou chou" means "teacher's pet," but i was still super confused because she knows i like xiu xiu the band because this weird kid who was in love with me for about a week said "emily aime xiu xiu" during one of the exercises that we had to share to the class. it was totally confusing. just thought i'd share.
