hey, it's me! miranda! i've been missing for a while for personal reasons, but this board is about xiu xiu and not me. but i'm back. for a little bit at least. i've missed you all, but catching up on the board today... looks like i didn't miss too much.

anyway. i know this has been posted before. and i know people don't like this. but as a xiu xiu fan, i can't help but find this hilarious. plus the girls who made it also like xiu xiu so don't get too defensive.

one the other hand, it's probably the most personal and depressing song on the album. so with that said, and on that side, it's not very funny. but if you take that away. i can't stop laughing. that's exactly what my friends who don't like xiu xiu are like when i make them listen to their albums.

i was almost scared to post it again 'cause in all honesty i'm ashamed of thinking it's funny. but i can't help it. i feel bad 'cause of what the song is ABOUT. and i LOVE the way jamie sings. don't get me wrong.

but i still think the video is hilarious. and you can never take anything too too seriously.

i saw this before.. i think its pretty dumb. arent people in college supposed to be studying? given the subject matter, and given jamie's high reputation of trying to find humor in sadness, even if you weigh them out i dont think its appropriate to make such a mockery of the song.

even though jamie says "pull my finger" at the end.

i think i would find it hilarious if it were actually funny... i like the idea, but

a- it's too short; there's no time to develop the idea
b- she can't act
c- you can tell almost from the very beginning that she's trying not to laugh

if she had been able to carry off a bit more time, and not start laughing like she thinks she's the funniest person in the world, she might have deserved a laugh... instead, it's just a waste of bandwidth

and while i see no problem with people finding humour in the xiu (i think humour is present in many of the songs), if you're going to make fun of it, you have to expect a few people with personal relationships to the songs to get pissed off

yes, i've seen it floating about youtube for quite some time. the girl it strangely looks a lot like a girl who went to my college's high school chapter, i can't really say i liked the song to begin with, but i dont know, maybe i'm not as dark as i use to be.
