for a long time i recorded a short song as my voicemail, but it was recently changed to an OMD background based narrative.

voicemail? mine is me screaming my name. todd: the new quote under your nickname confuses me... i appreciate the reference since i adore the film, but of all quotes, that one? i'm torn between giving you "props" and wanting to kick your ass

it's from "the living end"
"you know what AIDS stands for, right? Adios Infected Dick Suckers!"
and of course you shouldn't change it... on a message board dedicated to the band headed by the guy who originally made "hives" hilarious (see ibopa), it's completely appropriate...
it just hit the wrong nerve on the wrong day, kind of thing
i'm glad araki's films are still being watched, at least

did you see mysterious skin? i think it was his best film so far. im so glad he took that direction instead of splendor. i could spend countless hours watching his movies again. i can never get sick of watching his films. araki!

mysterious skin was amazing, although it was weird watching it the first time, as it is definitely different from his early movies
being a punk/goth/fag in high school in the mid nineties, araki was kind of a patron saint for a lot of my friends... in a way, doom generation, totally f**ked up, nowhere, and the living end all gave a voice to "alternative" queer people

I still haven't seen Nowhere :\
The Living End is my favourite of his, followed by Mysterious Skin (that and Totally F***ked Up are the only two I own). I need to start hunting them down on eBay - OR SOMEONE COULD RELEASE THEM ON FUCKING DVD. But not Strand - they NEVER put subtitles/CC on their dvds. It bugs the shit out of me.

i haven't seen The Long Weekend (O'Despair) (1989) Three Bewildered People in the Night (1987) and obviously This Is How the World Ends but that. that would have been one amazing television show.
