silveraeroplane for 7 years now. smashing pumpkins love <3 <3 one of my screen names in high school was "shamboyant," some song title that was written on a white board in a picture in the booklet for 'rotten apples.' and my first email address was billy__corgan@juno.com. I've only had success with one xiu xiu-releated screen name - crank heart x. "crank heart" was already taken

i used to have a cat named "kitchen". He was my first pet and one summer he got chased by a dog into the woods. I was freaking out all summer looking for him. I live in alaska and the bears are out like crazy in the summer. anyway... I drove around the whole summer looking for him and at one point i was so frantic i was even looking on ebay for like 'heat sensing animal finding devices' that hunters and animal trackers use to find animals. The Rough trade field guide to music was out that summer and this song by Hal called ;'worry about the wind' was always playing...and it was just a sad summer for me because I eventually found my dead cat three months later at the end of the summer....but like for the whole summer that dominated my thought process and everything I did...like feeling guilty for loving my cat so much when other shitty things were going on to other people...so anyway that's were I got my screenname from because for a while my character was built like a 'Kitchen Cabinet' and inside the computer were all of my feelings.....

i started using dr_strangelove years ago, figuring it made a good screenname due to its possible double meaning (reference to the film, which is a favorite, and perhaps a double entendre, as i'm gay [and primarily attracted to men 5-15 years older than me], and a lot of people consider that to be a "strange love")... the only other screennames i tried before were a fairly obscure/complicated lynch reference, but it never really fit me, and an equally inappropriate bikini kill reference... i almost changed strangelove when someone mistook it for a Depress Mode reference, but i decided to keep it, and the DM mistake is rarely made... i've used it so long now, actually, that i know a few people who call me "strangelove" rather than my real name... when jamie put "dr.strange love" in la foret, i realized that i will always have this moniker, not that i've thought of changing it recently... i did consider changing my screenname to match the spacing, but decided not to
what's really funny is, i've been using images of peter sellers as avatars for so long that when some people see what i really look like, they get confused :-)
P.S. i love when thread tangents become interesting! tell us about your screenname

when i was in long island visiting some relatives in the summer, there was a family having a yardsale on there street. 'books out loud' came from an audiotape of 'five little monkeys jumping on a bed' that was set out at said yardsale.(needless to say, i bought the tape)

Saw it on a t-shirt when I was in my "I want Hot Topic shirts, but I'm too poor to afford that shit" phase. But "Chicks Dig Scrawny Pale Guys" wouldn't work, so I just shortened it into my classic AIM sn. However, eventually (probably for college) I'm going to change it to "byronhulcher" since 99% of my web precence is under that name, chix is just left over from middle school.
