Yes, this is just a variation on the recommendations/new music thread, but I was wondering what are the TOP-FIVE ALL-TIME records of Xiu Xiu fans (call it a microculture experiment). Excluding Xiu Xiu, of course, or else our lists would be WAY too homogenous. And not the records you feel should go at the top of such lists, but those albums you go to over and over again, each time surprised at how great they are.
Here are mine (in no particular order):
Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire - The Swimming Hour The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Barafundle The Need - The Need Is Dead Jeff Buckley - Grace
Cheers!

The Robot Ate Me - They ate themselves The Fitness - Call Me For Together Radiohead - KID A Tracy + the Plastics - Culture for Pigeon Cat Power - What Would the Community Think
...these are what I'm listening to most right now, but it would take way too long to make a top five all time list.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane over the sea Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I see A Darkness Pixies - Doolittle Palace Music - Viva Last Blues Augie March - Sunset Studies
yeah, maybe it's a stage, but damned if it hasn't lasted for the past two years, but I love Will Oldham
so I guess one of those could be replaced by Velvet Underground & Nico, since it's really not fair that two are taken up
