The CD has the alternate artwork that you can see at the Tomlab site; the tracklist is in the see-through spine; back and inside artwork are along the same lines as the cover; the lyrics are printed on the inside, along w/ more expansive notes on who played what; the CD itself is mirror/clear color with "Xiu Xiu" in white across the label. The LP is very much the same. Front cover sadly doesn't cover up the entirety of the space, but is only slightly enlarged from that on the CD ver.; tracklist on back and on vinyl label; liner notes included are the exact same as those that come w/ the CD only it's not folded . In conclusion, more professional than the Absolutely Kosher package; I haven't played it yet, but I assume the quality is the same. Not really a nec. purchase for those in the US who already own the 5RC version(s), but the addition of the lyrics is nice (although Yvonne posted them on the net awhile back) and the artwork is mildly interesting. I now own four copies of "Knife Play." Seeing as it is one of the greatest records I have probably heard in my lifetime (I'm only 18, I'll have you), I have no qualms.

I also received the Tomlab "Knife Play" LP in the mail. The quality of the vinyl is excellent but I must say that I was a bit disappointed that the artwork did not cover the entire front. I really like the handmade artwork on the cover of the "A Promise" LP!! It is very well done! I am getting very excited to buy "Fabulous Muscles". Does anyone know if the vinyl is still going to be released on Free Porcupine Society?

Is the Knife Play reissue LP available for order anywhere in the states? I can't find it anywhere. Or did you order it from the tomlab site? Or did you find it in a shop? Thanks, Tim

I ordered the "Knife Play" LP directly from Tomlab. It costs a bit more because it is an import, but it is worth it. The vinyl is 180 grams and sounds great.
