Hey, we're using a 5000 Watt sound system for this show!!! NO joke! And stage lighting too.

oh man.. that first band... i didn't bother finding out who they were but ARG. i thought that now that 5 bucks on candy had disbanded that i'd seen the end of HORRIBLE ramones covers.. but damn.. these guys even made bary look decent (and as we all know that's no small job).

That song is covered way too much... I wasn't keen on the first band (The Right) either, but they did a way better job than 5 bucks on candy. Ugh, that band just kept on playing too.. very long.. I left. I couldn't stand to hear anymore rancid cover songs. Why can't people be original? Even a bit original?
If this is what is to come of abby bands... I am scared. (Circumsizing Clay, 5 bucks on candy, and The Right...)
Doing cover songs is not the problem... atleast do them in a unique way.

Okay.. Now I feel like reviewing the show last week.
Yes! A show in Abbotsford...it had been a while and I was looking forward to seeing a band I'd never heard of, and seeing No Dice! I got to the show and set up the merch table and helped the bands set up. To my horror the first act (The Right) had a certain band member that I call "Rummy" or the "potato guy." this is because at our CD release show he was really drunk and he ate part of a raw potato or something..any way he is always loaded at shows...and this was at a church, I mean, how very appropriate.... Rummy lived upto his rummy name. So, anyway.. The Right started things off with a Ramones cover and proceeded to cover other greats. I mean, what a set list... ugh.. Rancid, a Adam Sandler song...some more Rancid.. and more Rancid I think. I left. I couldn't take it. It was bad. It was the kind of band that I might have started when I was in grade 9. They played for a very long time and it got under my skin. All in all the kind of set that could even mall punks bored. They should be called The Wrong (I'm sure rummy would find that funny).
Next was No Dice. I had seen them once before and was really looking forward to their set. Despite some problems with the sound and the drummer losing sticks now and then it was a good set. I wasn't disappointed. It rocked my socks!! Not as intense as their last show I had seen, but worlds better than The Right. I look forward to seeing them again.
The Hand..... wow. They were amazing. absolutely great. The power went out in their first song.. but that meant that they had to play the song again, which I'm sure didn't bother anyone. I was stoked. The Hand was the highlight of the night.
Yes! Wailing Corpse!! Corspe played all the favorites. Jer kept pulling the mic away from his mouth when he sang and put it right upto his mouth when he screamed.. that kinda sounded funny... but they still played a freekin rad set. A little long.. but RAD.
I'm getting really sick of all the little shits that have to screw everything up for everyone else just because they're dumb... a base drum and a symbol were stolen from the church. Fucking classy... stealing from a church. Good stuff.... this is not what we need seeing as there is a lack of venues for teens in Abbotsford. As if drinking and smoking weed isn't enough (and yes, lots of that went on at the CHURCH show, I mean, that's punk right?) people had to steal from the venue. wow.. punk rock. Clay would be soo proud.. the thief was not giving in to our conformist society by obeying the law.. we really have a lot of ridiculously stupid people in abbotsford.
