lets discuss the effects of telemarketing on religion and political and philisophical-ness. now, im a telemarketing guru. and i seriously just spent 45 minutes convincing a women who had no insurance what-so-ever that she needed a protection plan for her and her husbands WALLMART CREDIT CARD. what am i going after i die, i think im going to hell for that last call. personally im not sure what i believe anymore in terms of religion, but if there is a heaven and hell, i know where im going. 9 months at this job havent been fun. and ive made large amounts of sales, im even on a team of elite sellers. how would you people feel if i called (which i dont i call americans)and i offered your elderly grandma a protection plan that totally ripped her off and costed her more than it protected her. i mean, alot of what i sell (espeacially for wallmart) actually makes sence for certain people with a medium sized income, but for others im paid to push on, i mean, what the hell.
by the way if anyone wants a job, there about 25 positions opening up right now, at CAI TELESERVICES, across from value village, and beside dairy queen, it obviously says CAI TELESERVICES. say bary recommended you.
talk to you soon!!

when a telemarketer calls, say "Can you hold on just one sec?" then set the phone up against the TV or stereo. Sometimes they don't hang up for 10 minutes

well, sounds like you have a serious case of not knowing anything about telemarketing. firstly: we are not allowed to hang up before you do, it's the law! second: and when we sit on a call, our contact time goes up and when they look at your stats they think that you are trying hard to get a sale so they think you rock. third: your an idiot. so, next time you think that you are pissing off a telemarketer my making them sit on a call you are actually doing them a favour... asses. if you really want to piss us off think of something more creative. end.

however severe my case of "not knowing about telemarketing" may be, i would hazard to guess telemarketers don't have much luck selling their wares to a stereo. Have fun in the electronic plantation.

i would say that telemarketing is a terrible thing, but then i would be a hypocrite because i'm in sales and i also buy a lot of shit. so what i will say is that we're all in a shitty situation where we've come to a point of ultimate reliance on this bull shit economy. maybe it's not the economy though, maybe it's just people constantly finding new ways of fucking everything up because that is what we do best as a species. it doesn't seem like there is a damn thing to be done either because it seems like everyone are just zombies at this point. is it even possible to turn this around? maybe someone should just blow up the credit card companies like in Fight Club.

yeah the whole economy relies on creating an artificial sense of need in consumers, selling them things they often can't afford without loans, appealing to their fear and greed and ego, and encouraging them buy the latest designs when last year's design is the basicially the same shit. The only thing that matters is profit and consumtion. This economic system is not sustainable and will collapse eventually. Taking democratic control of the economy would help things, but it appears humanity will fuck over the planet and most of the people before things improve.

yeah, it's so true. it's bad when new "needs" are artificially created, like you said. don't people function the best when they have fewer desires? everything is trying to make us insecure without shit we don't need. why isn't the government putting constraints on advertising, considering the serious psychological damage it's having on the public??

come on everyone. we're all consumers here. stop trying to be anti'everything when we are all hypocrites. if you all hate the government so much then create your own island and do what ever there while still keeping the peace among everyone without some social structure. we all have things for a reason, so as long as people still buy from telemarketers there will be telemarketers. and besides we don't get paid off commission we just get paid. so you real people don't mattter. p.s. and also don't act like you've never wanted something that costs more than you'd like, but bought anyways. ex. cds

living in a predatory capitalist system is not, in and of itself, justification for living in a predatory capitalist system. Your argument is what's known as a naturalistic fallacy.
Embrace your hypocriteness. Viva La Revolucion!
