Okay, I have pondered this a few times. You know how there's always people and bands talking about social or political revolution. It seems to me all they can focus on is the reason for the change or "revolution." I don't think I have ever heard anyone or any band talking about their alternatives for the problems or how to maintain this new social or governmental system. What are their plans to keep everybody happy?
I guess my point is: there's a bunch of people and bands talking about the problems, but they seem to lack a solution. It's a shame because they raise such good points, but what do they have to back it up when people become interested?
Feel free to debate this. It's just something I've been thinking about sometimes.

It's eaiser to point out problems then find solutions. It doesn't mean that these poeple are utopians lost in a fantasy of a perfect world. It means that people suffer no matter what situation they are put in. We have it so good in N.A., but we can still find stuff to complain about. It seems like a human condition that very few people can free themselves of. I know i can't. I always catch myself complaining about stupid things. And then i think about how the whole world works and then it hits me. I'm a fuckin spoiled little human. That makes me want to say something about it. Could be why these bands have alot of good points and not many solutions. And i agree with noisy, revolution is childish and silly, along with rebellion, cause all that stuff means to me now is some sort of identity that you can buy from a store in a mall, put on as a symbol for something so opposite of what it was tring to accomplish in the first place. Fuck Che Guverra, i never knew you.

Ah, Che Guevara T-shirts, pop cans, keychains, pens, screensavers, lunchboxes...The motherfuckers are trying to kill him even after he's dead. As for solutions, I'd much rather listen to bands sing about participatory economics than how human beings are suffering and starving not due to the lack of the country's wealth, but due to improper distribution of wealth. There are bands who try to make a change by informing the listener and there are those who express their frustration through their music by trying to indentify with the listener. So, why not stand in the middle and use the heart as well as the mind?If you have two guns, fuckin' use two guns! As for revolutions being childish and silly, I agree 100%. I like the no-name brand best. You can't dis Che just because he's been raped.

only if i get to wipe.
guerilla warfare is a pretty cool read. only if you're on a train - a train to geneva that is.
i think the logical evolution to punk music will be something like what terrence mckenna proposes - we'll all eventually become "tuned" in - from doing massive doses of magic mushrooms of course, then at the end of the mayan calendar we'll automatically find all the solutions. we'll live happily ever after in our heads.

Guerrilla warfare is interesting indeed. Depends where though. For example, it always makes me giggle when people are so serious about revolting in a place like here. Canada is actually very well off. It's not perfect, but perfection is impossible. It always seems greedy to me....

my random thoughts on revolution:
Revolution is a human right. Destruction is also an act of creation. Countries aren't real. The only place that makes money is the mint. Capitalism is a snake eating its own tail. The police are occupying your city through force. Property is Theft. Your home is a factory, your TV and computer are the machinery and you are the product. None are more helplessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free. THX-1138/1984/Soylent Green. Fire your boss. The axe must be laid at the root of the tree. Don't vote. Cult of Effeciency.
