There has to be more than just non-believer, believer or heaven and hell. Juz think of the amount of people and the difference in population between the two. I have to think that there is more. And more than juz death and decay aswell, or maybe that is it, but something says no. And christians can manipulate words as much as they want, and write books like "living as a filthy rich follower" but the truth is that Jesus was poor and not that he couldn't have been rich. He once said that "the son of man has no place to rest his head". Him and the disciples would rub heads of grain together so they could eat. When I raise this point wealthier people defend and say "well, I can't just" or "this is a gift" or whatever. But take a look around, we in North America hoard the wealth and the resources of the world. And still we give the least per capita in the whole world. I just read a book of journal entries by Paul Gallet. He was a preist in one of the poorest areas of Northeast Brazil, and after a while he realized that he couldn't evangelize to a people without working on changing the social structure that was making them actaully hungry. Jesus was moved with this same compassion (if the words are true). Christians are way to righty, some anyways. Open eyes reveal so much about nature and humankind and what we as consumers are doing to it...if you really believe that it is a gift from god then why are you rapeing it? if I may (this reply is quite long again I realize): Jesus once said when asked what the greatest commandment was (of the 10 commandments) and he replied: "love the lord your god with your whole heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself". If Jesus was whom he said he was (and if the words are true) then a statement like this would reveal the very heart of the lord for his sons and daughters. No dangling carrot, just relationship. ten thousand apologies to both nostrildambus and the hairlip (apologies again, i should say hairlip wk).

The deal of heaven and hell seems unfair to most people who don't belive in God because they feel that they don't have to change becaus they tink that they are good without God. Just put yourself in this position..... pretend that you created everything, and you created humans but you gave your humans free will, to chose between "good" or "evil" so to speak. So half of your humans picked to worship you the creator and half of the other humans picked something else to follow giving them credit for you work. How would you react to your creation who doesn't follow you? Would you think its fair towards you? So If God does truly exist what do you have to lose? (I don't really know if that made any sense?)
What I was trying to say is that everybody has a free will ...It is just what you do with it that counts

mad chad, what does this mean?!?!
uh, lindsay, i really dont think god thinks in terms of fair. and that what have you got to lose bit doesnt make sense, well, to me. do you mean if there is no god then no worries just a little wasted time, but if there is then sweet deal. i hope thats not what you mean because thats bullshit. plus, i never said i didnt beleived in god.
my beef is with people who only do things for people because their scared to go to hell.

the thing i don't understand is if this "ever loving god" loved all of his creations no matter what, then why would he sentence sinners to an eternity in hell. if he had all the power people say he has, then why wouldn't he admit them into heaven and change them into good people? if he knows what people are thinking, then wouldn't he also have the power of controlling that person's thoughts? correct me if i'm wrong, i don't want to offend anyone.
edit: it's not laziness, it's lack of motivation

why would god waste his time changing a bad person into being good once they're already dead, when he could just make a new good person?

My last post was in reference to JayC's previous comments. It just seemed kinda funny to me. Don't get me wrong though, I believe in God, but not necessarily the heaven/hell thing. What the alternative to heaven and hell would be, I don't know.
