Hey there....
My name's Brian and I'm the lead singer of a new local "screamo" band called Harrow. I've pasted our bio at the bottom of this message.
We're just starting to play shows, although we're all experienced musicians. I'm just writing to let y'all know that we're always up for playing shows if anyone ever needs a band to round out a bill. We've got a demo that we recorded ourselves that I could send to you, if you're interested. We prefer all-ages shows over bar gigs, although we'll play almost anywhere.
We'll be playing at the Cobalt on March 28th, and with Che:Chapter127, Deadsure, and End This Week with Knives at the Pic on April 4th.
Cheers,
-Brian

Harrow
(noun): A farm implement consisting of a heavy frame with sharp teeth or upright disks, used to break up and even off plowed ground.
(verb): 1. To break up and level (soil or land) with a harrow.
2. To inflict great distress or torment on.
Formed in the spring of 2001, Harrow is a hardcore punk band looking to purge all the knots and negativity one tends to accrue in this troubled world. Moving beyond the anger and rage of 90s hardcore, Harrow’s members explore and release various intense emotions through their music, including fear, loss, sorrow - even moments of joy. With a foundation of punchy, heavy, catchy riffs, in the tradition of Refused and Snapcase, Harrow also features arty breakdowns reminiscent of bands like Fugazi and At the Drive-In, without imitation or duplication. The result is a unique and interesting blend of hardcore’s brutality with the subtleties and sensibilities of post-punk. In short: intelligent hardcore for the thinking person. The lyrics explore emotional reactions to everything from police brutality to ecological disasters to late night epiphanies, weaving together blood-curdling screams with soaring melodies.
Arising from the ashes of local hardcore outfit Payback, guitarist / vocalist Rob Clement and lead singer Brian Williams joined former members of local metal band Yokozuna: drummer Andy Ashley and bassist / vocalist Casey Easton. The resulting sound is something that fans of both heavy music and so-called emo can both appreciate.
After months of hard work, Harrow has a solid set of ten songs and are prepared to play shows in the Greater Vancouver area, and weekend gigs out of town.
