george orwell's 1984 was a somewhat dry but very thought provoking read as well. again base on communism to the largest degree possible i'd imagine (or hope). lord of the flies was a fun one too. kids get stuck on an island and basically have to rebuild a society. you can quickly see paralells drawn to our own society. goon one. are the last two books you read from your grade 9 and 10 required readings? woody allen - side effects and without feathers milan kundera - identity
