i used to think that the entire world was created for me. for instance, past, present and future all revolved around me. that things only happened in the past to cause present events which ultimately effected me somehow. directly, or indirectly. it was like 1984 in a way, that those who controled the past control the present, and those who control the present, control the future, but in a sort of 2/3 way. the sole purpose of people was to influence me in some sort of way. there was no heaven or hell idealogy. ie. people were not there to lead me, per se, towards a greater good or evil. but only to influence my decisions. i was a child after all. the thing that ended it all for me was i once considered the fact that other people could have thought this way. and perhaps i was only alive to influence them. directly or indirectly.
i believe i was 8 at the time.

When I was eight I used to play Barbies and I thought that they were pretty cool. My life sort of revolved around that. I wasn't intellectual enough to think of life the way you did. I guess life revolved around Barbies and I was there to influence them...hmmm

i'd have thoughts like that around that age too.. kinda like a truman show feeling.. that i was being watched 24/7 by everyone in the world.. and eveyone was just acting when they were with me..
i didn't take it seriously.. but it was something i thought about

i would always wonder how many swears i was allowed to say before i went to hell. then i'd say 'shit' and wonder if i was going to hell now. i probably did that like 30 times.

i had similar thoughts as a kid. i was quite convinced that i had some tremendous purpose in the universe, which i don't think is healthy. it'd be interesting to conduct a study with small children in north america and compare their outlook on how they relate to the world (and how important they think they are) compared to how kids did like 20 years ago. i arrogantly and half-educatedly blame consumerism and marketing campaigns that try to ensure everyone they are that beautiful and unique snow flake and that they deserve whatever they can or cannot buy. conducting a study like the one i said would require a time machine i now realize, and i think i'm up to the task.

Yeah dude. I read a Goosebumps book where he went to a camp or something, and it turns out the whole thing was for him, as a training camp or a test or something. I thought that was like my life. In fact, I'm still not completely sure that everything is as it seems. Watching things like the Truman show and reading books like that really fucks you up.
Everyone wants to grow up and gain freedom, but realizing that gaining freedom means the realization that you are insignificant isn't the greatest feeling in the world...
