Because I love the truth, I have always despised apostacy and shallow Christianity and fraudulent spirituality and counterfeits of Christianity and cults and new age nonsense and such. I would include all major non-Christian religions. to me if you love truth, despising shallow efforts and half-heartedness makes sense, and i can agree with you there. however, 'despising' everything you view as contrary to your beliefs is not a form of loving truth.. and defining your own version of 'truth' degrades the concept of truth, because then everyone contrives their own truths that all conflict with each other, thus confusing what the definition of 'truth' actually is... everyone loves truth.. no one likes to be lied to, or find out that their beliefs are inaccurate.. but an active love of truth would be to find support for what you believe in with an unbiased mind, knowing that there's always at least a slim chance that what you may hold true is in fact in need of some fine tuning.. there are thousands of belief systems in our world and i know that i will never call a belief system false unless i understand it completely and through my experience with it find it to be innacurate, contradictory or implausable with my own view of what is possible... this doesn't mean that i am ultimately accurate in my decision to call that system of belief a false one, it just means that i choose not to put faith into its teachings until unanswered questions or contradictions are made clear... through my studies and experience i have found that there is truth in almost everything, and even the most 'contraversial' ideas have at least one element of truth.. this doesn't mean that i go out and pick and choose from different teaching the things that i agree with most or think will benefit me... but in my search for truth i look for what works and what holds true through experience.. after that i can put faith into it

You are certainly entitled to you opinion. You were not entitled to lock The Punks Zine thread. The Punks Zine - Religious, Political and Philosophical debate moderated by Kenneth Montgomery Keillor has now moved to: kennethkeillor.proboards32.com

i am the moderator of this forum, i can do whatever i want with it.. if you want to continue with that discussion, then you can, i won't stop you
anyways.. back to this thread's topic..
your 'You are certainly entitled to you opinion' comments have no purpose .. no shit we're entitled to our opinions.. that's a given and everyone knows that already.. this is a discussion forum and we're relaying our opinions between each other, if no one was entitled to an opinion than no one would be talking..
if you have no response to my post then don't say anything.. if you do have a response then maybe this is the time to convey it.

reading through something he wrote i found this.
"Re: "i don't take the bible as it is written".
I do. One of us is right, and one of us is mistaken. If I am wrong, I have lost nothing. If you are wrong, you have lost everything. Time will tell."
by our loverly liddle fairy Kenneth.
one word. actually a lot of them.
1 Corinthians 6: 9, 10
Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be decieved; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, no revilers, no swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
haha. have fun in heaven. you'll probably be the only one there.

I went to acquire the fire once. Why was everyone crying when they all went to the front and prayed? It was some kind of organized massive emotional breakdown.

how to be a youth pastor:
step 1: make loads of confused teenagers feel like shit about everything they've ever done in their life. step 2: watch 'em cry for a bit. step 3: nonchalantly mention they're going to hell on top of having a terrible life step 4: with emotional walls broken down, mention jesus' grace step five: invite them to become active in youth group step 6: tell teens to invite friend step 7: repeat steps 1-five step 8: once a significant sized youth group is obtained organize a "fund raiser" car wash step 9: during a slow period during the day ask youth to wash your car step 10: after free car wash skip town
