xian or not: name one problem with xianity (not xians) that you feel deligitimizes the religion.
i havent heard much of anything thats actually a real problem except for stu's comment...
it usually comes down to either you want to beleive or not. and please, leave your prejudices in the other community boards

ya know, it seems a little silly to bash any religion that seems like it was started on the basis love and of helping humans to become a positive spirit/soul on the planet. i wish thats what religion was all about but then somebody at some point in time must have realized another use for religion. hence breakdown it's not so pure anymore. one thing that can get on my nerves is the years and years of dogma(silly rules and theories)that people will believe so blindly that they may be forgetting the reason they believe anything at all. peeps will hold so tightly to what they believe that they become a closed mind not willing to explore new ideas. bummer so now it seems like the passion is gone, talks have stalled except for the rehashing of the same old bullshit. i guess i lost intrest in xianity the religion. but that dude jebus and his crazy ideas never get old peace in the pit y'all
p.s. i do know xians who aren't like this at all

yeah dudes....thats why i more or less denounced organized religion and basically decided to follow whatever religion i made up as i went along. i suppose im still christian, me believing in good ol JC and his parables and whatnot, but really thats as far as ill classify myself. i have much respect for other relgions, since they should be respected, and all religions have something worthwhile to teach.

same principles, different names. Buddhism, Christianity, Wicca, whatever. just "love" one another. It's all good, right?
I have nothing against the religions itself. It's just some of the hardcore believers that bother me. Just because you believe it, doesn't mean I need to.
(And if God did indeed exist (I'm agonistic, you see), he'd be pissed off more so about the racism, corruption and hate than someone saying his name in vain.)
It'd be nice to have something to believe in, especially with the state of the world as it is...But, hey. What can ya do?
Anyway, I decided I'm gonna start a cult where you listen to radiohead, pink floyd and the libertines all day and run around naked.

I'm all about the Satanism. Indulgence over abstinence. Most people are confused when I say this, being sXe and all.

The problem I see with Christianity is that it is a religion designed to make it's followers feel guilty, and feel the need to repent and ask for forgiveness. It tells it's followers that since the moment they were born they've lived in sin, that they should ask for forgiveness. Christianity takes natural aspects of people and calls them sin. Sloth, greed, lust, and all of the so called "deadly sins" are "sins" that no one could possibly live a normal life and never experience, and so Christianity keeps its followers in the Church by continually making them feel as if they are living in sin and need to have "God" in their lives in order to be "saved." Not only is this wrong, but the fact that there is much hypocrisy in Christianity (specifically in the Church, not in the faith) is laughable. How is a Sunday Church bazaar anything but an excuse to commit the "deadly sin" of gluttony? Sure it's a get together to worship their god, but it's also an excuse to get together and sin. Is it supposed to be alright just because it's a Church event? This is merely one example of hypocrisy in the Church. Another problem with Christianity is that there are so many sects, many of which are practicing ALMOST identically the same religion, yet they look down on each other and feel that followers of a different sect are going to hell. For instance, it is a belief of some sects of Christianity that Catholics are going to hell for praying to false idols. Even though they are praying to god. And which sect is right? Surely they can't ALL be right? It's a lot more likely that they are ALL wrong, but that just goes into my personal beliefs. Aside from this there are just some things about Christianity that make me shake my head. Prayer, for instance. Imagine how much some people could accomplish if instead of merely praying for it, they actually took action to achieving their goal? Results could be mind boggling. One last thing about Christianity that doesn't sit so well with me is "God's will." Is it supposed to be comforting that is somebody dies in a horrible accident that it was "God's will" or that they're "with God" now? Wouldn't people who say this to feel better or to make somebody else feel better rather have that lost family member or friend back with them than just console themself by saying it was God's will? Goodness... anybody fellow Satanists out there among the ranks of the message board? I'd love to hear from you.

youre lucky some of my bros didnt read that... i can understand all your complaints, but, ive also heard all of those things bashed so hard to the ground that i dont even know where to start.....
first, ALL religions are about changing the way you live, whether you feel guilty or not...

Not true - Satanism is not about changing the way you live. People do not BECOME Satanists, they just.... are. The most common way to discover this is to simply read material such as The Satanic Bible. The basic beliefs of Satanism are very logical and make sense. I changed nothing about my life when I started associating myself with the religion.
