maybe religion is just another thing that western culture consumes so they can kill time and ignore the fact that they're alive.....

i think religion is unavoidable in life, everyone has faith in some form of deity, i think people are drawn to the unknown. i think that people need something to believe in or we wouldn't even have will to live. some people might take up religion to pass time in their lives, but i think people take up religion because they are looking for meaning in their lives. western religion seems to be goal oriented, people do it with the hopes that at the end they may have the chance to become immortal. but i dont think its really a question of eastern/western belief systems, i think its our lack of perception of what lies beyond death. i think its maybe just human nature to desire closure on things that are uncertain like that.

I think religion definitely fills a void. I became a christian because I was missing something. I wasn't happy and now I am. I could go on at length about how my life has changed for the better since I was saved, but I don't think it would really impact anyone here. I know there are those here who are Christians.. but alot more who wouldn't listen anyways. If anyone cares to add me to msn. Wheeler316@hotmail.com

Wheeler, for a guy who talks about how better his life is since he got saved, you sure do come off as being pretty desperate and lonely. Aw heck, I'll add you on MSN, ya big lug!

yeah.... jesus loves you.... and everyone else.. doesn't sound that special.. Since we're all special and unique people, then why are we all loved equally? i demand some more elitist treatment from this "Jesus" fellow, who, for all i know, might be some hispanic dude in a big apartment.

Yes, God created women, but samuel colt only made the men equal, and probably made the women less equal, seeing as the men now had guns.
