I guess since it was my idea, I might as well get this thing started. As you all know, Final Fantasy is infamous for frequently reinterpreting the works of his peers and predecessors, but lately we've been finding quite a few covers of his songs by other musicians. As a result, I thought it would be a good idea to condense all of the Final Fantasy related covers that we've made and/or found into one thread. Post a link to any Final Fantasy covers you find on the internet, or take a stab at one of his songs yourself and share it here. I suppose I should start us off. Please Please Please by Ben Forbes benforbes.co.uk/?p=120I thought I might aswell repost this here for convenience. A new member to our forum posted this daring cover of Please Please Please, reintepreting Pallett's eclectic violin riff on the guitar. This is the Dream of Win & Regine by Fraser www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apl6u2omJ5sAnother recent member showed off some of his video layering skills with this very clever recording of This is the Dream of Win and Regine. Peach Plum Pear by Just The Architect www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVjSAcOPo-MI found this video recently of Jonathan Chan (aka Just The Architect) doing a cover of Peach Plum Pear. Now, I know it's technically a Joanna Newsom song, but he does it to the style of Final Fantasy, what with the violin looping and all. The slurry british accent is a nice touch too. This guy also has an incredible Foals remix on his myspace, but I digress.... This Lamb Sells Condos by Cabaret des Lumieres www.youtube.com/watch?v=KluUsv1xZ-0This is a very beautiful instrumental rendition of This Lamb Sells Condos I found by Cabaret des Lumieres. They cleverly alternated the melody from piano to violin, paying respect to Final Fantasy's studio and live versions. This is the Dream of Win & Regine by Immaculate Machine www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNwOmY02gncBum Bum, badada bum bum bumm. Immaculate Machine reinterpret this fan favourite with some a'capella melodies and pop rock sensabilities. This Lamb Sells Condos by yours truly vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=56246632A dumbed down version, translated to accordion by a fan who shall remain anonymous....*cough*...*cough*..... Adventure.exe by Roisi www.youtube.com/watch?v=35IC__t5b0MI found this cover a long time ago. A very humble homemade rendition of Adventure.exe, with some well-timed backround ambiance. I think that's all the ones I've found so far. Post any more you find/make.

So, someone a while ago on these forums posted, jokingly, an idea to do "This Pooka Sings" with a vocoder and a drum machine, and call it "This Pookazoid Sings".
I have a live cut of me performing this. Would anyone care to hear it? Its pretty weird.

CN Tower Belongs To The Dead by The Ambience Affair www.nialler9.com/tag/final-fantasy/Posted this in the small talk thread a while back, and love it so much I'll throw it out again. Thought it was a clever way to go about it, and his accent and voice put their own nifty spin on it. Couldn't help thinking that he could have leaned on the lyrics a bit more though, if you know what I mean. It's clear they don't really uh, mean anything to him for the purposes of the song, if that makes sense.

HAHAHAHA, the pookazoid sings!? BlueInk/BlackThink, I HAVE to hear this! I second this Adventure.exe by Mona Sabbat www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOBuWNVNPQchaha, probably the silliest cover of this song! i love his voice. so jolly! the violins layered are just ridiculous in such a fun way! This Modern Love by msjde www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGmsPysDeSUanother cover of a cover - and another electric violin I was going to post the cover Jason (aka "sarpedon") did of OMD's Telegraph which he posted a while back but it seems the upload expired (Jason, mind reuploading?) I really enjoy it, and if you want I can reupload it since its save on my storage drive... p.s. an Armature thanks for the reposts ;D

I forgot all about that mona sabbat cover, thanks! That cover cover is pretty good too, that guy will probably end up getting a tour with bloc party.
And Sarpedon's name is Jason? That wouldn't happen to be the same Jason who made the Les Mouches fanpage, is it? I'd like to hear that too.

So, my old version was lost when I moved from pc to mac, (it was probably really sucky, anyway)
so I'll record a new version over the weekend. - Vocoder, but + Auto-tune!

I am indeed the same Jason with the Les Mouches fanpage. I would reupload it, but I think I could do a LOT better, so I could cover it again or something new, An Amateur said something about Les Mouches? I've been thinking about covering them for a while, but could never pick a song, but I'd be happy to contribute anything.

In the mean time, heres me and my friend five months ago really drunk trying to cover final fantasy's cover of Sweet Fantasy by Mariah Carey. It was really hard because A) We were drunk B) I was recording on a 1989 Radioshack Tape Recorder, and there was one mono out, and I had a single pair of apple buds plugged in, and both of us were trying to listen to sing along while I was layering loops. C) We tried recording this song twelve times. The first one was the best / most comprehendable. CHECK IT OUT! www.sendspace.com/file/5rgu0s

I actually did start working on that once, forgot why I stopped; I should finish that one too. I'll start on telegraph ver. 2 asap! it's up to you about uploading the first one in the meantime though, I don't dislike it. EDIT: lets revive the les mouches cover thread so we can take it somewhere!

That Just The Architect guy seems pretty awesome. I'm checking out his myspace and free EP as we speak. Most of those covers are pretty awesome. It's funny to hear people covering a cover; I guess it proves how good Owen's covers actually are. I was going to post the cover Jason (aka "sarpedon") did of OMD's Telegraph which he posted a while back but it seems the upload expired (Jason, mind reuploading?) I really enjoy it, and if you want I can reupload it since its save on my storage drive... At the risk of being shouted at for just plugging myself, I did a cover (with funkage who posts on here fairly regularly) of 'Telegraph' which you can watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zetU2wm_ys. Oh the fun of alcohol and synth pop.

BlueInk/BlackThink, This Is The Best. - The Best - I don't know what that is supposed to mean. I will take it as a compliment.
